Inter is reportedly very close to singing Juan - CB/LB from Internacional with which Juve were also linked at one point - for around 3.5 mil.
If true, this would be a good deal for a promising player like him ... too bad his career would be over before it even began

nothing is certain yet and for sure won't happen in January. He has 2 more years with Barca, at the end of this season, but has a clause where he can leave as a free agent if he or the club wants them to part ways.
for now, all Milan has is an agreement with his agent, should Keita leave Barca in the summer.

I think you'd be lucky to have Barça find a replacement for him so he joins Milan. Otherwise, I think he stays, seems Pep finds him incredibly useful.

Odd how little Milan is rumoured to spend on their midfield, almost as if it isn't important.

knowing that expensive often doesn't equal great, comes with experience (of the management) ... sometimes to get quality you need to spend (Ibra, Nesta, Pippo) but Milan build a midfield, which dominated Europe for years under Carlo with other team's rejects (Seedorf, Pirlo) or little known players (Kaka, Gattuso).
in the end of the day, a champion is determined by his character, not by his price-tag.
