Christian Vieri is on scintillating form as the Serie A kick-off approaches, netting a hat-trick in Milan’s 6-0 win over Al-Ittihad.
The former Inter striker arrived on a free transfer this summer and has been the star of the pre-season friendlies so far with a series of goals.
Vieri took centre stage at the Milanello training ground this evening, netting three times against the Saudi outfit. Andriy Shevchenko, Kaka and youth team player Ardemagni scored the others in a 6-0 drubbing.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti will find it tough to choose between his many hitmen for the opening tie of the campaign against Ascoli, as Alberto Gilardino is also pushing for a place.
Luca Toni was once compared to Vieri and he also netted a hat-trick today when Fiorentina beat Figline 7-0. The former Palermo centre-forward was joined by Christian Rigano, Alessandro Gamberini and Valeri Bojinov’s brace on the scoresheet.
In other friendly action, Sampdoria crushed local side Sammargheritese 12-0 with Aimo Diana and Abate bagging a brace each. New signing Emiliano Bonazzoli was unable to get on target and limped off with a slight knock.
