For the Bianconeri, Sunday’s game which will see Juventus against Napoli will be the tenth encounter on April Fool’s day, traditionally dedicated to jokes.
The first fixture occurred in 1900: Juventus overcame Ginnastica Torino 2-0.
The same result occurred in 1923, and the match winner against Legnano was Blanco.
In 1928, Juve played a joke on Genoa. A goal fest took place: 6-1 thanks to goals from Barisone, Bonivento, Munera, Galluzzzi and Cevenini (the latter with a double).
Following the goalless draw occurred against Inter in 1934, in 1951 Juventus was surprisingly defeated 0-3 at the ‘Comunale’ by Como, who stood in the middle of the table and took advantage of Manente’s own-goal to clinch the victory.
In 1984, Juventus v Fiorentina was decided by a penalty. In the 90th minute, Beniamino Vignola was brave and approached the spot: he made no mistakes and gave his side an important success ahead of the twenty-first Scudetto.
1 April 1998 saw a memorable win. Juventus played Monaco at the ‘Delle Alpi’ for the Champions League final first leg. The final result was 4-1: Del Piero with a hat trick and Zidane entered the scoresheet. Among the French players, the presence of a future Bianconero stood out: David Trezeguet.
Simeone was instead the match winner in Juventus v Lazio occurred in 2000. The three points achieved by the Biancocelesti were fundamental for their recovery to the detriment of the Bianconeri.
Finally, a 1-1 draw occurred in 2001 between Juventus and Brescia. For the Bianconeri, Zambrotta was on the scoresheet, while for the visitors Roberto Baggio showed his brilliance and passed Van der Sar just a few minutes before the final whistle.
