Legro: No need to spend

Juventus stopper Nicola Legrottaglie is adamant the Old Lady don't need any defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window.

The Bianconeri have enjoyed a superb 2008 and are alone in second place after beating Milan 4-2 last Sunday.

But there has been regular speculation that the Turin giants will add some new faces in 2009, with Premier League stars William Gallas and Daniel Agger reported to be targets.

“It's the first time that I have heard those two names linked with Juventus,” Legrottaglie claimed in Tuttosport.

“I'm not really interested in that kind of talk, but I am a fan of Juve and so I am in favour of any transfers that can help the side improve.

“However, there would be absolutely no guarantee that the new men would take the place of the existing players,

“They would have to fight me for a place, just as with Olof Mellberg.

"We are the second best defence in Serie A and I don't think we have any need for strengthening in the defensive department.”

Legro didn't really say anything in that interview.

Do you really think he's going to say, 'The defence is shit and players like me must be replaced.'

:lol2:

Anyway, I'm against buying another CB...Not in this year. The Legro-Chiellini and Mellberg-Chiellini partnership is pretty solid and they have proved what they're capable of.

Buying another CB wouldn't be wise. At least wait until the season is over.

Legro is doing a grat job during these 3 years, and the proof, is being in the national team...

we dont need a great CB, maybe a young one, or even bring criscito next year and thats it

what i really like about this player.... is that years ago when he was outcasted from juventus because of poor performances... the guy always wanted to come back and show that he was able to handle the shirt.....

the man worked for it and even when he is not in his youngers years--- he managed to achieve what he wanted and the old lady called him back...

that must have been very reawrding for him.. a good proof that You ned continue trying, even when u bite the dust.
