Legro: No need to spend
Juventus stopper Nicola Legrottaglie is adamant the Old Lady don't need any defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window.
The Bianconeri have enjoyed a superb 2008 and are alone in second place after beating Milan 4-2 last Sunday.
But there has been regular speculation that the Turin giants will add some new faces in 2009, with Premier League stars William Gallas and Daniel Agger reported to be targets.
“It's the first time that I have heard those two names linked with Juventus,” Legrottaglie claimed in Tuttosport.
“I'm not really interested in that kind of talk, but
I am a fan of Juve and so I am in favour of any transfers that can help the side improve.
“However, there would be absolutely no guarantee that the new men would take the place of the existing players,
“They would have to fight me for a place, just as with Olof Mellberg.
"We are the second best defence in Serie A and I don't think we have any need for strengthening in the defensive department.”
