No it's not really as that was one of the few DP's incidents, whereas it was just one of hundreds of blunders Legrotaglie did. He's got a long history of being unreliable and mistake prone, that doesn't change in just one season.

I don't mind keeping but his position is the primary one that needs upgrading. Buy a class center-back, than let's see what Legro is made of. I don't wanna enter the season with him as first choice, just too see him get back to his ways.
I agree with vlatko here, I wouldn't mind keeping him as backup, but I am not yet convinced he should be a starting CB, especially not since we will play CL and if we want to challenge for the title.
We need to invest in quality next summer, we have enough quantity.
Exactly the same opinion as mine.

I rate Stendardo higher than Legrottaglie. It would be laughable if the board isn't serious in signing Stenadardo because they intend to fully depend on Legrottaglie in the next season.

so what he made one mistake last night does'nt make him awuful in my opion. i think legro was solid all season and when brought in instead of andrade he proved his worth. its true we need to have an extra center backs come next season but thats not cos legro is unreliable i think its cos obviously we will be playing in three fronts i,e we need to have depth like the old good days.

Craka, well said. People are so easily impressed, wants to sign him and one even goes as far as "future defence leader" just for a couple of decent games of doing his job in the defence unit. No showstopping stuff, just doing the job to ok standards as a backup is expected to (why he was loaned, he acheived his task, Mellberg is coming to do moe of that, bye bye now).
Stendardo is younger than Melberg and Andrade, plus I don't actually see the advantages of both Melberg and Andrade over him bar experience, he's so solid and quick. Most importantly I haven't based my opinion regarding Stendardo on a couple of games I watched to him, I wanted Standardo nearly a year before we sign him...here.

Legrottaglie deserves to play for Juventus due to the reason you've just mentioned, I said nearly the same from a week, but not as a regular starter. We need a better centre back to partner Chiellini.

i have a feeling that a lot of faith is being put in Andrade for next season. The plan is to have him partnering chiellini in the middle. If he can regain his form then we are looking at a very good partnership.

Legro will still be here with melberg and possibly Criscito. I guess its a good defensive setup.

The biggest issue i have with Stendardo is his price.I dont want to hand Lazio our youngesters as they could potentially hurt us, and thats for a defender that didn't prove himself.

i really dont rate legro, especially after the poor marking job last night. Imagine if our defenders made those mistakes in CL! But maybe he just needs some pressure to perform and stay focused

You can't expect players to be fully focused when winning so comfortably.

I doubt we will be 4-0 up at HT against anyone in the CL.

Afterall Gigi didn't look too concentrated on the goals either.

Legro has been excellent for us this season. He has had a few mistakes but who hasn't? He has been critica when needed against the big teams and that to me says a lot. Big deal if he had a lapse of concentration against Lazio after we were up 4-0.

You can't base your judgement on one game, that's ridiculous. Overall, Legro has been very solid for us and could be a very good backup next year. My only concern of anything is Andrade. He hasn't convinced me so far.

Legrottaglie: «Everyone deserves to be commended»

It is now time to harvest the fruits. After a great season, Juventus have mathematically reached the objective they’d set out to reach: a place in the Champions League. Even if there are still three games to go, with the chance to do even better, it’s time to receive the deserved accolades.

Nicola Legrottaglie, interviewed by Juventus Channel, immediately shared the merit: «When you reach an objective it's because everyone has done his part, from the players to those who work behind the scenes. The team really deserves to be commended for what they've done. Next year we'll try to do even better, but we know it won't be easy. Our objective will be to erase the small gap with the teams in front of us. It's a shame that the League is ending, with a few more games we could've improved our position even more, seeing how we're playing: after that win at the San Siro we've been unstoppable».

But I doubt Andrade will be fit before the start of the season, if he is going to get fit at all. Wouldn't be a very smart plan.

As seen on goal.com :

Juventus defender Nicola Legrottaglie has hailed this season as the best of his career and he is also hoping to be a part of the Bianconeri next term.

The former Chievo Verona stopper was on his way out of the club last summer but Juventus kept him on their books and he was set to be used a second choice defender in Ranieri’s side.

However injuries to Zdnek Grygera and Jorge Andrade allowed Legrottaglie the chance to shine and he has now become a regular in the Bianconeri starting XI following a string of great performances at the back.

“If I look back, I was on the verge of leaving last summer, however I have become one of the protagonists in this side,” Legrottaglie told Tuttosport.

“This season has been the best in my career, yes I scored plenty of goals at Chievo but you can’t compare that with Juventus.

“I want to know what the club really think of me. If I am an important player then I would like to be treated as such and just like the other players who are considered important.

“I would be happy if other quality defenders arrived. I will be finishing the season as a first team player and I hope I begin the next season in the same way.”

The player has been a rock at the back for the Bianconeri alongside Giorgio Chiellini, who is quickly becoming one of the best stoppers in Serie A.

Its important to have solid backup like him. So keep him, especially when he plays with the great attitude he does, that kind of determination makes a player go the extra mile that some others dont (to comeback from that kind of hopeless position he was in is admirable, and shows how much of football is about mentality).

And Craka, I dont think he will leave or want to leave unless the team wants to get rid of him. He has finally earned his spot in the squad with us, and he wouldnt want to give it up and is in the position to make demands. Him saying he wants to be starter next season is a given, because we should be worried if he didnt have that as a goal.

But I dont think he would react that strongly when the reality become that he is out competed from a starting position. Regardless of his wishes, he has perspective to the reality of things (he lived through it for years with us, of being unwanted etc. This is an upgrade not easily dismiss).

P.S I still cant believe that weirdo I quoted said Stendardo is better...

Well it is a gamble with him getting re occurrences of injuries, i wasn't concerned that much with his first injury as it just happens. But now its different, the manager will have to asses him in the summer.

If he is deemed unfit then we need a CB with some leadership abilities, experience, and consistency. Something that both Legro and chiellini don't have.

Sounds like someone wants a new contract.

That brings me to my next question for the guys here on the forums, What do u guys feel is best for Juve and/or Legrottaglie next season, would u prefer him to stay/leave/start/bench or what?
I will be surprised if we sign a CB who is better than him.

Anyway, Legro has made the place his own and, until someone proves they are more worthy of it than him, he should play.
