Yup, that guy as well. Dont get me wrong, I dont think its a death sentence, but it's a big red flag which should result in a big discount. If the discount price is 50-60m, what would they ask for a healthy version of Zaniolo, 100m? :D
I wouldn't say that but without the ACL injuries he'd definitely would be more expensive at this point. His potential is probably the highest of any Italian atm...

that's crazy talk. he had great potential, but he hardly even managed to break into the senior Azzurri before the rupture.

no Italian has ever been sold for anything even remotely close to 100m
Zaniolo was 20 years old when he tore his ACL, and as a 20 year old he did become a starter in Roma and did break into the senior national team. What more can be hoped for at that age?

He would definitely have been a 100m player on that trajectory. We have Chiesa as great talent and player, but at that point Zaniolo was the biggest outfield talent in the country.

So much negativity here, it's like people never watched him play. The guy would instantly boost our team so much. Huge fucking talent. Having both him and Chiesa would be a joy to watch.

I understand if somebody is scared because of his knees but posts here are beyond ridicilous, it's like we're getting Molinaro.
He is Italian so its Tuz trendy to assume he is Sassuolo tier jabroni

its a legitimate concern. Majority of people here dont dispute his talent but rather the price or the potential for another J Medical fiasco. Pretty understandable

lol, you're talking Gnabry and Anthony while you suggested the budget was tight earlier on. Right? Those are expensive as fuck...
I mentioned them as alternatives to Zaniolo. Whether it's this year or next, the point still stands. If we're spending that kind of money, then spend on a better player than him

The way I see, I think Zaniolo has the potential to change games, he definitely can do it now but has the potential to do it more consistently. He has great technical ability and physically has all the tools (injuries are a risk), due to our position we need to secure Italian players like this (like chiesa) because it's extremely hard for us to find and then hold onto players with that ability at this current stage.

Looks like the guy has deleted his instagram account. Probably preparing for the tirade of verbal abuse from the romanisti. The move looks sadly inevitable

one mistake doesnt negate another potential mistake?
My point was that we gave huge money for a nobody and that's not the only example. Just look at the market nowadays. Prices are insane. We'll see official numbers yet but considering his talent there's no way we're overpaying. People thinking Zaniolo is worth 30mln? Come on man. Abraham was a nobody yet Roma bought him for 40. Based on how Zaniolo played he's easily worth 70 (I think Sergej is worth more) so imo there's no way his injuries should make him a 30mln player. Mediocre players cost that much in todays market.

Berna wasnt a "nobody" when we bought him tho. He was highly rated domestic talent/player at that point, at least to my memory.

Considering the market prices, i agree: prices have been skyrocketing and its expected that players are more expensive than before. So 30 is probably realistically too low.

My point is that all this doesnt make the concerns mentioned illegitimate: I can understand why people call this a risky move.
