I really can't understand why the board is so obsessed with selling young players under the value! They are strangely insistent on pushing young players out before they reach their full potential. Savona participated in 37 games last year, 26 games was in starting line up and 11 games as sub. He operated mainly at RB and ironically, he received a decent score/rate.
The club must maintain its dignity and respect for the players, the valuing and extremely poor transfer performance has brought the club down drastically. What do we need 11 million, we can sell him to one of the Italian teams at any time for between 15 and 20 million. I feel that Comolli is going to take a begging bowl in his hand and beg in front of Alianz stadium.

Always thought he could be a good squad player and useful depth for the foreseeable future so am a bit surprised we are letting him go this late, but aside from that i don’t see the huge potential that others see in him and wouldn’t bet on him becoming a starting level CB or wingback for us anytime soon so in my view the fee currently rumored is fair for a rotation player that seems to also struggle with injuries in the last year or so.

And if this is truly what it takes to unlock other moves than so be it and hopefully it’s for the greater good.

Lol at the comparison though. Hujsen was good, Savona is way way under par.
huijsen wasn’t even part of the first team, this revisionist history is so funny. Where was all this energy about him when he was here? I was on an island with a few others begging for him to get a chance. Savona being a part of the first team is pretty much a miracle. He’s a good player.

They can’t actually be serious about selling Savona with 4 days left in the mercato, right? So the plan is to ship off a homegrown talent with clear potential, but hang on to Kelly, a PL reject who’s older and offers less upside? Honestly, why bother running a youth academy if this is how it’s treated. The way this club operates sometimes feels like borderline player trafficking, and not even the competent kind.

I don't know why any young player would sign with a Serie A club, whether you're 15 years old or 21 years old. They're ultimately just going to be used to make capital gains in the books.
