Then you cant blame anyone?

is not koops fault then?
no need to compare this to that. savona is a 21 year old playing first season in professional high level football. it's not his fault he is being asked to start for a clueless motta and out of position at that. when we say it's not his fault this is what is meant. at most he should have been a back up option.

koop was a star for atalanta and was signed to be a star here. him having the same number of goals as savona is unacceptable.

He's a youth team RB, who is not hugely technical. He's not exactly the type of fullback you would expect to be able to switch over easily to the opposite flank. That's on Motta, we have seen that it doesn't work.

It was a complete mismatch with Dumfries in terms of speed, strength and positioning. Even mentally he was losing the battle, there was a ball in the second half which he could have got to first but looked scared to step in so stood off and let Dumfries have the ball to not risk his position (to be fair to him that might have been an instruction at half time to be more cautious).

We were lucky it didn't cost us tonight but it is on Motta more than Savona.

don't murder the guy, he's not a left back by any means

that said, get him off, he's not ready for dumfries
He wasn't much better at right back. At least not in possession. He rarely passes further than the closest guy and it's usually backwards. He needs a loan for sure. If this Alberto Costa guy isn't chosen over him soon, we better sell him too.

It's like how I play as a RB in the 4th division championship .
2 steps forward , 2 steps backwards , pass to the nearest teammate (usually a backpass) ,but my excuse is that I am almost 39 ,not 20.

He's done fine against weaker opposition at RB, but Dumfries isn't easy. No idea what Motta was thinking. Maybe he thought Dimarco was a bigger threat and Weah could handle it, which was I guess true.

Being this young I'm not going to give up on Savona. But he should only be a RB or maybe even CB later.

Please stop. Dumfries is not Messi og prime hazard. He is a limited player good a running. And he destroyed him. Dont Think dumfries ever destroyed a player like This in his life.

savona er completely useless. He cant run, pass, tackle , position him self, head. He has zero qualities.

he should nevet play again, unless its a shit opponent. The guy is 22 in 2 month. He is not even that Young.

absolutely terrible player

He was bad but he’s not a left back. Why is Rouhi here?
I have the same question for Alberto Costa.

He hasn't imo. He added shit in offence and simply wasn't tested defensively against those teams (yet was partly responsible for a few costly goals against us).

Could he become something? Maybe. But he needs to go on loan first...

That's simply not true. He was fine defensively and against some of the best wingers in the league even.
We were specifically speaking about the "weaker opposition". See the post I quoted. What minnows have some of the best wingers in the league?

Also I beg to differ. He had some good games but also many shitty ones. That's not 'being fine' imo.

also re "added shit offensively":

per 90 minutes he has more goals than nico, cambiaso or koop lol

again, savona is a serie c player who found himself at the first squad, and he had a very good start. of course he faded when he had to play multiple matches per week, and he's also struggling with pubalgia. saying that he's a shit player is the definition of premature judgement

kvara, leao and tavares are among the best wide players of the league and finished with a 0g0a combined against savona

he's been bad lately and became a liability, especially on the left side, but let's not pretend that the guy was useless from day 1

So he scored two goals and hasn't even entered the box ever since? So he had 2 good games against Napoli and Milan, which is true and let us down in a dozen others the last few weeks? How is that being fine?

I'm not saying he's shit or writing him off but he needs to be benched and loaned out if he doesn't turn this around. Neither did I say he was useless. He was good to bridge a period. But that's over now. We have better and more ready players in all positions at the back and it's money time.

Show me his key passes, succesful crosses or the length of his forward passes and we'll talk instead of goal stats for a FB with 2 goals lol...

Dude, 2 goals is nothing. That doesn't make it a useful statistic and you know it.

It's like saying a goalie that saved one penalty when he only had one against him is like the best penalty stopper ever.h

That is moving goalposts. At least use some statistics that have some representative numbers.

In most of the matches Motta was forced to play him, due to lack of alternatives. I don't think that we have big plans for him. He'll be benched when the other fullbacks become available and then loaned/sold in the summer.
