Making our next gen a cash cow is a mistake. We should have not signed Cabal, or Kelly, or a to of other players if we filled our squad with decent, good, or great players from our academy that have low wages, no transfer fee, and probably more drive.

That was one of Giuntoli's biggest sins.
AGREED.

This was the blueprint originally. Build an academy who can provide us with decent backups and the occasional elite player. Use their low wages and instill in them Juventus DNA so they are loyal and dependable if they are not very good players. Even just getting an average player on our bench from the academy is a huge win.

Instead we've used it for plusvalenza so we can continue to make ill-advised purchases of foreign club players at a huge increase in valuation. This is unsustainable and always has been.

If we just look at Next Gen kids sold over the past 2-3 seasons, we'd be looking a lot better on wages and on the field. It's crazy.

Cash cow? Barely. We are selling them for peanuts. That's the bigger issue here.

Other clubs like Chelsea for example sell their youth for twice their value.

We have a lean team, upcoming injuries in 3 competitions without having proper back up for many spots. The team has not built properly and adequately for present in 3 competitions. God help us.

Our management should seriously buy you a beer man. Lets hope for your and the management's sake, your Soule's, Huijsen's and Savona's all collectively fail.
Just to say you don't judge a deal in a vacuum and I'll grade the mercato when it's finished.

They're gone, man. It doesn't matter how they do from here on out except to fuel some sour souls. Just wish them well.

I really don't get why was Mbangula 10m and Savona 15m? Judging from their performances last year, Mbangula was pretty good, while, apart from his first 4-5 matches, Savona has been dreadful, a joke.
Savona was practically a first teamer, Mbangula a fringe. One played in world club cup, the other didnt. One we wanted out, the other we had a pricetag.

Yeah, lets ignore the fact the club has started this increasingly worrying trend of using NextGen to sell players for petty sums in favor of plusvalenza and/or using the funds to bring more mediocre players in. It's a lose-lose situation. You'd rather stick with a younger player on lower wages if we are gonna use the funds on players who won't improve the level of the team. It seems you're unable to see it but by all means continue praising and defending these moves.

We did not bring in someone worse than Savona. We didn't even buy a replacement at all...

Savona WAS a first teamer indeed. 11th in minutes played. That might explain why we're getting 15 million for someone who's not worth as much imo.
But Mbangula made 8 G/A in 1079 minutes for a team like Juventus as a 20/21 years old. That's 1 G/A in 134 minutes, which was better than almost everyone. I understand wanting to sell him, but I really think we should have and could have gotten more if we weren't so eager to sell him as earlier possible.

The fact that you're digging up old cows and this management has a totally different modus operandi is in fact missing the point...
I'm simply ignoring shit that doesn't involve Savona which is what we're talking about.
What old cows? This new management sold Mbangula for 10M. Championship players are sold for way more.

Whether its new or old management, we are selling NextGen players for some pretty low profit margins. It's not serving the purpose either from a sporting or a financial perspective. And this is a worrying sign.

The new management has a different modus operandi? Do they even have an operandi in the first place? Please elaborate. I'm all ears.
