We are the new club that destroys players, we overpay for them then turn them to shit, and 8mil for a player whos contract expires in a year has Secco written all over it
Much worse than Secco.

There is no way they can possibly do this without a contract extension in place, or in negotiations.

Can they??
I highly doubt they'd renew his contract now, too late for that. They usually do that 2 months before they leave club. And it would be bad for us because they would offer him higher wages, so we'd have to offer him even higher than that.

I'm pretty sure that they technically could, but no way they would. We'd be negotiating a satisfactory deal with Burdisso before this transfer could occur.

For my money, Burdisso at 8M euro is a big no. Fuck that.

this is from wikipedia:
On 22 August 2009, Burdisso was signed by A.S. Roma on loan, which offered him €3million salary per year.[3] He played the opening match of the league on 23 August. Burdisso scored his first goal for Roma on December 20, 2009, opening the scoring in a 2–0 win over Parma

Burdisso has expressed his desire to finish his career at Boca Juniors[4].

His younger brother Guillermo, also a defender, is currently playing for AS Roma, but the two did not played together since, after his one year loan at AS Roma ended, Nicolás returned to Inter, before joining Juventus.

Yeah, I did that. I also went back and added:
