Not completely convinced about this one but we do desperately need a RW, the quality is surely there even if the consistency and injury history has me questioning a bit this move, nevermind having to deal with the viola rats all over again which i would’ve rather avoided, however if the price is reasonable then i guess it’s worth the gamble, also potentially being able to include counterparts or maybe via a loan+obligation formula could make it even more feasible.

Sigh

I just don't understand selling Soule and buying this overrated turd instead for even more money. It will never make sense to me.
It is clear we get 24m profit in our books when we sell Soule, but we only pay 7m for the loan and for the obligation (if this transfer comes trough), it will only count as 4.5- 5.5m per years for 4-5 years in the future. So in nutshell we get a proven and currently better right winger who can also play in left wing, and still put 17m profit in our books. The profit will be differ based on the loan fee, but I think we will match whatever Viola paying for Gudmundson loan fee so the money will just moving hand

We are doing great job in terms of financial and FFP needs, maybe a little better output then the unproven Soule in terms of what they will bring on the field THIS season. But we are PROBABLY will lose in those increase potential value and resale value, in 5 years we will get a semi retire Nico G and in 5 years we will have a 50-60m Soule. So the best scenario is if Nico actually do something magnificent and someone come, get him for more money from us. I put probably as we dont know if Soule will explode at Roma, because he can be Zaniolo'd if he play week in week out in Olimpico and will become a mere 1m player in near future

So in my conclusion is we are looking to get a profit now(financial aspect) and want to get far in UCL as Nico will arguably give you a better CL run than Soule to get more profit from CL money. At least this is what in the mind of Giuntoli right now, as I know his preferred right winger is Sancho or Adeyemi. And whoever will come, Soule want to be a regular starter (something that we wont give)

Soulé also costs 24 + 6 in bonusses while for Gonzalez the rumours are 30 mil bonuses inclusive. So the 'even more money' isn't even very accurate if the rumours are true.

But still the important part is for this year we get 22.4m for Soule transaction (based on press release). We still dont even count the bonuses because it still not happen. And if we get Nico for loan + obligation, we will only write 5m loss. In other word for this year financial report for these counterpart transaction, while we do a little upgrading Soule to NIco Gonzalez we still getting 17.4m profit in our books. As for their ability right now , we can point that Nico is more proven and above Soule

The loss from his amortize value for next season is next season problem. And for the salary part, I think it will be the same if we extend Soule, as if I check capology.com this is a verified Soule salary with AS Roma annual € 3,700,000 (Base) € 930,000 (Bonus) Total : € 4,630,000 per year (gross)

And this is Nico G salary with Fiorentina annual € 3,850,000 (Base) € 770,000 (Bonus)€ Total : 4,620,000 per year (gross) (capology verified). We probably will give him around the same amount total (without bonus) all total as base salary or slightly a little higher for the salary, like 5-6m per year (gross)

This is from the accounting point of view, because when we buy a player it means we buy an asset so we write his value when we buy him and we amortized the value based on how long the contract is with us. And when he extended we take his last book value for that year, then we divide it based on the number of years his contract will be extended from that point on that will be his new amortization value

If Giuntoli can add new coach like FM, he probably already choose PSG and buy Vlahovic from us for 300m

Good signing, perhaps not world class by any stretch but he's an effective player and one I have always thought as Fiorentina's most dangerous attacker, will fit well with Motta.
This is silly and shouldn't even be happening in the first place but have we tamed the purple rats with all the dealings over the decades and made them our feeder club or what?

This transfer feels too easy considering what is happening in Bergamo.

I'm surprised there aren't any riots in Florence or that at the very least their fans forced their management to step down.

I know that the records of the players we bought from them haven't been stellar, but even berna and Melo were their stars when we brought them here.

Yes I’m sure no other club would’ve given them 80m for Susan and 45 for Bernardeschi. Spending money recklessly is not something to be proud of.

I am not unreasonable. I understand the lack of depth of squad but not completely convinced about this one but we do desperately need a RW, the quality is surely there even if the consistency and injury history has me questioning a bit this move, nevermind having to deal with the viola rats all over again which i would’ve rather avoided, however if the price is reasonable then i guess it’s worth the gamble, also potentially being able to include counterparts or maybe via a loan+obligation formula could make it even more feasible.

People fapping over the fact it’s 25M plus 5M loan fee instead of outright 30M.

People never learn.

I think people here just love giving money to the Purple Rats. Pretty much every other summer.

Of course you won't be convinced when you are suggesting the club to sign players like Bernardo Silva like as if we have the capacity to do so. Club is literally struggling to attract a shirt sponsor that can provide decent money but here we are talking about signing world class players from elite clubs.

Unfortunately, your out of touch with reality posts is rubbing off on others as well.

club is struggling but signs a 4th keeper without selling the main one

therefore club cannot be struggling.

When they sell the main one before this window, it becomes a moot point.

Cost of keeping Szczesny is way higher than cost of signing 4th goalie on loan. Just deal with it.
