I am not unreasonable. I understand the lack of depth of squad but not completely convinced about this one but we do desperately need a RW, the quality is surely there even if the consistency and injury history has me questioning a bit this move, nevermind having to deal with the viola rats all over again which i would’ve rather avoided, however if the price is reasonable then i guess it’s worth the gamble, also potentially being able to include counterparts or maybe via a loan+obligation formula could make it even more feasible.

Of course you won't be convinced when you are suggesting the club to sign players like Bernardo Silva like as if we have the capacity to do so. Club is literally struggling to attract a shirt sponsor that can provide decent money but here we are talking about signing world class players from elite clubs.

Unfortunately, your out of touch with reality posts is rubbing off on others as well.
Good points but i’m still not completely convinced despite not suggesting names like Bernardo Silva, you just fell for him copy pasting my post from the same page as his own

Either way, hope we conclude this deal soon because i don’t even want to know where this mercatto will take us if we somehow also fail to get this one over the line too.

This is silly and shouldn't even be happening in the first place but have we tamed the purple rats with all the dealings over the decades and made them our feeder club or what?

This transfer feels too easy considering what is happening in Bergamo.

I'm surprised there aren't any riots in Florence or that at the very least their fans forced their management to step down.

I know that the records of the players we bought from them haven't been stellar, but even berna and Melo were their stars when we brought them here.
Yup we shouldn't have got this low down in our shortlist but that's the reality of where we are at, it's a good signing, even if I think it's a tad too expensive but right now I almost don't care about the money, just need to get bodies through the door now.

As for what you said about this being too easy to sign. We have to remember all the Italian clubs except roma it seems have no money this summer, it's like clubs are relying on others to spark a domino effect, in this case Gudmunsson is part of that effect.

Not sure what to think about this transfer if it happens. On one hand Nico is a good player but on the other I don't think he'll ever become world class. Yet we're spending 30mln on him which is a lot of money.

It needs to be said though, that we're not in a position currently to lure wingers who definitely seem to have the potential to become elite like Nico Williams or Yamal or bet on Brazilian talents Madrid style by spending 30mln+ on them hoping they become another Vini or Rodrygo.

On Soule vs Nico G. To be honest, I'll feel much more secure having Nico on RW than Soule. Matthias is still very raw, also physically. Starting the season with Yildiz and Soule as your first choice wingers screams trouble when things will not go your way. They are too young and inexperienced to handle such a pressure. I guess Juve had to decide between them and chose Kenan.

Also, if we can somehow include our deadwood in that deal it would be too good to refuse.

Bringing a 26-years-old Argie from a smaller serie A team to Juve. We already had two such cases.
One was a complete fiasco - Sergio Almiron joined from Empoli on our return from serie B. We had very high hopes for this guy, but he did really poorly. He was expected to be one of our saviors, but only managed around 10 underwhelming appearances.
The other one became a legend. He joined from Verona in 2002. Our team was already great and no one expected a lot from this nobody, who didn't have a single cap for his NT. And yet he became a starter and later a WC winner with his adopted country, Italy. Of course, it was Mauro Camoranesi.

It's gonna be very hard for Nico to become the new Camoranesi (they play the same position, don't they?), but I certainly hope that he won't be the new Almiron.

I miss this guy, he had everything but speed. At least three times more creative than our current most creative player.

Nico having 39 Argentina caps is a bit of a safety net, I feel. He couldn't possibly be an Almiron, but he probably won't be a Camo.

N.Gonzalez - He is a good player, talented, trickster and fun to watch so no he wont be an Almiron. That being said there is a huge difference with being good and being great.
Can he be great - Maybe, but he will definitely need a good team and the right role in order for this to happen.
Camoranesi - Of course he cant be a Camoranesi as he is not of the same type. Nico is way less creative but is more of a dribbler and havoc creator, has a nice left foot.

I dont think he is the type to take us forward but I might be wrong.

If he can be more useful than our current wingers over a stretch of 3-4 years, then that would be money well spent.

A winger grom Fiorentina. A loan with obligation to buy. Where have I seen this before?

What could go wrong?

Well, at least this one is not Italian.

Does he perform against the big clubs? I see a lot of goals in the conference league, worry his total stats are skewing his quality analysis. If he can’t perform against the big clubs we can’t hope for a high standing in the league.

Soule out, Nico in is big a fail from a financial pov, sporting-wise too hard to convince it was a good move

Nico is a lot more proven than Soule and is superior in pretty much every category, yet it’s Soule that gets the benefit of the doubt. Why is that?
