Indeed, work harder to get rid of the likes of iaq and Martinez (his own mistake) and there would be more cash.

From the feel of the Rvp, Jojo and Llorente deals, we have 20m + 3m/year to spend. That still gets an awfull lot of player (dembele), you just need the scouting network. Marrotta can do so much better or at least be honest and promise less!

How would he know he couldn't deliver? He had a certain amount of money and figured he could fight for those names if he actually dropped those names. When the deals fell through because of more money wanted or other reasons there isn't much a director can do
