Not even a chance.
If you read the post burke, you would see that that post was purely to show what englands likely route to the final would be if they were to win it... as robert said we had an easy route to the final should we get there... which it clearly would not be

I never said we will win it... Though to say we have no chance is an absolut joke...

Personally my favs to lift the cup are argentina and i dont think italy will do anything either.... But a lot of people have a good chance this time round

Why's that funny, we have as good a chance as anyone in this comp, things go our way, we can win, of course we could also go out early...

There isnt a team in it we need to be afraid of...
For me its the most open world cup in a long time, there are alot of teams of a similar level, prob as many as 8 poss winners imo
Yeah you are right. It's getting tighter and tighter and more unpredictable.

I watched the ESPN 2 telecast last night, with that idiot Marcelo Balboa - "I think the US are going to win the WC next year..."

no wonder he'll never commentate anything but the US NT games

Vinni, that has more to do with the marketing aspect in the States than personal opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if the ESPN marketeers forced those guys to say that, just to stir interest and increase ratings this summer. This is why ESPN should probably be bombed.

think Holland, Germany, and Czech R. have a better chance than England, but if I had to call it, yea, Argentina and Brazil.
I extremely doubt there will be two South American finalists in a European-based World Cup. The chances of that happening are pretty much zilch in my opinion.

Im telling you guys right now. Dont get too cocky, with Italy's draw they could easily become last WC's Argentina/Portugal. And ironically so could Argentina.

True that. Any of the big teams can fail at this World Cup, including Brazil.

Did anybody see Lothar Mattheus pick up a ball, then touch his ear, then drop the ball back into the pot just to pick up another one? I guess FIFA had some technical difficulties with the earpieces they issued.

Not during the draws for Germany's group, though.

I remember a discussion with one of the guys before WC 2002. My friend went on and on about Argentina, Veron, Batistuta, Crespo....Blah Blah. And he almost sweared that they will win the whole thing. I told him don't be so sure, let them pass their group stage, Sweden, England, and Nigeria is no easy group, and then maybe they could go all the way. He wasn't convinced and went on with his reasoning of how great their players they have, and amid his enthusiasm he said "I will shave using a broken piece of glass if they don't!". Eventually he was embarresed and his team failed him. Luckily I didn't hold him to his word.:D
