Brazil will flop, early on. Argentina will gag ala 2002. France is too old. Spain, don't make laugh. Germany is at least 4 years away. England lacks imagination and creativity. Italy is too concerned about hairstyles to make an impact. Portugal, yeah right. Therefore, Czech will take the World Cup.
No I think Argentina will go far. Part of the team that won them the gold medal in Greece will be there. Theyre very motivated

Scott Parker has just had a tooth knocked out, hit hard again by Toure, blood all over his shirt, clearly in pain...yet he just signaled to Souness that he wants to stay in. But he can't continue because he's simply given all he had. Respect.

RochemBeck: Are you born in USA or are you just living there at the moment? Americans who enjoy football (soccer) is quite rare as I know.

How big would you say that is soccer in USA? Do most of the americans know who Ronaldinho is or are they just completely clueless?

Born and raised in the United States within an American family that had no prior interest in the sport itself. I guess I would have to say I'm rather unique indeed.

As for your question, I have several friends who know about European football, including Burke and other guys of previous soccer teams I have been a part of. To say Americans are completely clueless about soccer is an unfair generalization because I know a lot of people who love the sport and indeed know who Ronaldinho is...however if you ask some random guy on the street of some hick town in my country, of course they will not have a clue about soccer. It just depends on WHERE you happen to be and who you ask. But unfortunately I would have to say the majority of my compatriots know nothing about European football.

That said, soccer is the fastest growing sport in the country so hopefully more will fall in love with it.

Well it sounds great that America is also getting more involved in this sport. Their national team is actually good. Although I've heard from many americans that in America the sport is more known as a women's sport. Must be the only country in the world with that opinion. :)

That's just the opinion of some inane jocks who know nothing about the real football.

Nice to see you are a Detroid Red Wings fan. I've been one myself since 92. ;)
That's cool. I have a long family history in Michigan, especially in Detroit. Favorite team in the world of sport along with Juve.

Good to see our Swedes taking the NHL by storm. ;)

:D Have you watched any games there? Do people think Zetterberg will be the knew Yzerman?

Man I really miss Fedorov... :( He's my favorite player of all time.
No way will Zetterberg be the next Yzerman. Hockey will never see such a great leader for any city ever again, and since times have changed I really doubt he will have close to the same number of points as Stevie.

That said, he's still a fantastic player, one of the best young forwards in the league.
