    Andy,

I have been cheering on Italy since the 1982 WC......

The farthest back I remember the USA team is when they played Italy in a BS tournament back in 1992, then WC 1994

I have NO desire to watch the MLS...I think playing soccer on an American football field is a joke...

and if I have a boy, and he shows any promise with soccer, I will do what some other families I know have done...take him to Italy, get him into one of their soccer academies, so he can learn from the best

THATS WHY WE LOVE THE :star:VINMAN :star:

Andy...you are the American Navorksi..a man with no nationality..you will NEVER understand.

burke: Don't diss Inzaghi's genitals and never diss Maldini or you will be speaking on Skype with the help of a Stephen Hawkins type voice box.

Enron: Before you talk football let alone diss Milan I suggest you buy a "Introdcution to Soccer" book at your local Barnes and Nobles....that or go re-read all my posts and you may BEGIN to have a vague notion of "it"...either way....Jog on, kid.

That's retarded Nick. If anything I hold true to my nationality, not the crap you just posted. If only we all had an excuse to support Italy or Germany...

Let me get this straight for the record RetardBeck...

My parents are both born and raised in Italy...naturally, my grandparents were raised and resided/passed away in Italy...From as far back as I can trace all my ancestors are from Italy.
I was raised in an Italian environment i.e. language, food, religious teachings, mentality. I was also branded an Italian in most places or other words we shall not repeat. More importantly (in this context only) I grew up watching Serie A soccer and idolized Italian players...I read the Gazzetta dello Sport back in the day when it arrived days late in NY and everything I did on the pitch was related to Italian soccer I had seen on TV.

Now I am supposed to say that it is retarded to cheer for Italy in the World Cup??
    Yeah makes sense....

Anyway Nicky, I'll be smoking a Havana around 6:00 this evening. I have a Trinidad Fundadore, purchase at the Habanos store in Aruba. This cigar is a bit too thin for my taste, but it is excellent. I've already smoked three of the four I was given. Come by and meet me for a drink if you get tired of that New York grind.
Mr. Padovine .... I don't think they would let a brute like me into the country club despite my taste for CUBAN cigars....be it Davidoff's, Romeo e Julietta, Cohiba's (too rough for my taste) or Montecristo no. 5's....

Now how on earth did your brain foul this one up, Nick? Did I ever say you had no right to support Italy? No. Did I ever say Vinni or Pado had no right to support Italy? No...don't think I did. The only thing that remotely resembles a post such as that is my one directed to Burke in which I scold him for supporting Germany over the States even though he has absolutely no reason to do so. I have distant roots in Germany, Ireland, and other places...should I support them before the States? Of course not.

Now did I say it's pathetic to support any nation besides your own when you have no family backing in said nation and no ties to the country at all? Yes I did infact. Now how on earth did you come up with the garbage you just posted Nick?

Perhaps you should go back and read my posts again Nicola...or just take a reading comprehension class. I support the United States...yet I have no country...makes a lot of sense.

Just as overrated as Italy though. Sure, we are not on their level yet, however you cannot deny WE are gaining speed and improving year by year. You would be foolish to deny that Nick..

And Christ...we should have beaten Germany last time around if only the ref would have awarded us that blatant penalty. Italy isn't all that either..

If you have history in Italy or Germany or some sort of family backing, then supporting that side is reasonable. However, if you were born in this country, live off the land, and have no connections to another country not including your distant family backing, you should be supporting this one IMO. At least in cases such as myself and Burke's.
I knew what you were implying....I know many Italians who put the U.S. National Team first...I don't. Granted I am a 'special case' when it comes to this since I have an Italian Passport. Nevertheless, if Burke feels a closer connection to German football than American so be it..
What irks me is Lebanese suppporting Brazil because "many Lebanese live in Brazil" and crap like that.

P.S. Enough with the OWNED and OWNAGE crap...this ain't the FRAT party....sell that sh*t to the frat boy tourists in Daytona beach on spring break.

P.S.S. I still stand by Bobo Vieri....Crespo did not start scoring till LATE November.. I still have faith that Bobo will be "CLUTCH" for us this season.

Take no offense, Andy, but your post is pathetic, and it shows off the envy and bitterness you feel against Italy NT. It very understandable and positive that you support US National team, but with this kind of post you only demonstated that you still needs to maturate your football understandings a bit.

    said will all due respect.

But Burke has no reason to feel "closer" to the German National team because he has lived here all his life and only has distant relatives who were actually from the said country. I just cannot find any sense in supporting a nation you only have distant distant ties to and have nothing to do with the country besides a family tree. If every friggin person did this there would be no supporters of the US National Team...some would probably like that but thank God some people have some sense and stay true to their heritage.

If Blandest ever made one good post on this forum it would have been this: "Not supporting your own country is just retarded." See, the girl knows her shit in this respect.

P.S. Ownage sounds much more reasonable than your famous cliche "sell that shit to the tourists." Now thats ownage.

P.S.S. Bobo has already past. The funeral is some time in June.

    :howler: Is that a joke?

How dare you lecture me on what to believe in this respect...sorry I expressed my opinion on how I would just love to see my country beat a World great, like there is anything wrong with that. Italy has crashed out of the past two tournaments in pathetic fashion yet they are still considered co-favorites for Germany...they are going to have to prove they are up to the task first.

As for the final sentence in your post...all due respect my anus. What exactly is wrong with the post I made? Absolutely nothing. Infact this is the one and only post I have made bashing Italy in the history of any forum I have ever been a part of...yet this is supposed "envy" and "bitterness" on my part. Whether you like it or not, Italy has something to prove in Germany because their recent results in the past five years have not been anything to write home about. And if you were following this discussion you would know why I made that blunt statement...but hey carry on with the lecture mate.

And for your information...if the States bow out of this tournament in the early stages I would have Italy's back. Just goes to show how much you know about me and my "unmaturate football understandings.."
