Any Grappa lovers out there?
You're kidding, right, Nick?! ;)

Damn straight I am. I have four different monovitigno bottles of Nonino at home, plus some Ceretto Zonchera grappa, some Antinori Tignanello grappa, etc. Even some crazy Villa de Varda grappa that comes in the zodiac (killer) bottles.

I burn more holes in my gut with the stuff than a NY cabbie does to his seats with a cigarette.

Fabi, what is the deal with your new name I mean number? I was searching through posts and minding my own business until those evil numbers of yours jumped out at me and said "hey, you suck at calculus."

Thanks for reminding me I suck at calculus, Fabi.

LOL The Red Sox are out. Hell yeah

The White Sox's coach is venezuelan
Not that I follow baseball, but as a native Chicago South-Sider, you can't help but notice this as their first post-season series win in 45 years.

I was talking to my mom on the phone today, and she told me that when the Sox last won a postgame series in 1959, sirens sounded throughout the South Side of the city for the celebrations. People who didn't know any better at the time, back in this dark era of the Cold War, thought they were being attacked -- as if Russians were launching missiles.

Shows you how long it's been. :)

A Dookie from Chicago? Are you sure you're not Mike Kryzewski?

There are few sports teams I detest more in the universe than Duke. In fact, I really can't compare them to anyone else -- that's probably the only sports team I truly hate. I would rather see Real Madrid and Manchester United win 3 CL titles apiece before I'd like to see Duke qualify for the Final Four.

Now I did live in Durham, NC for 6 months and was inside Cameron Indoor Stadium when Duke won it's first national title in 1991. But I was there more as an anthropologist -- and against far better judgement I was masochistic enough to date someone who was going to Duke at the time, who got me to go with her. (That should have been my first smack-on-the-forehead indicator of the stupid things guys do for taco. :wallbang: )

Oh, the embarassing moments in our lives that we wish to take back...

Even better! How easy it is to forget that AL championships used to be crowned without a playoff...
