Thats one way to over dramatise things. The reason you are not a mod is simply because you are not mod material, you would instantly ban people like myself and Zlatan for no reason, and you certainly don't traverse many sections of the forum. Not much point in you moderating one thread is there.
Thats just a little detail. There are many reasons why you too were not fit to be Mod...like the inability to accept other people's choices or beliefs. I wouldn't ban Zlatan...but yes I would probably ban you.

Woa, don't go that far Nicola. We thank Berlusca for the little kindness after one of his own players injured one of our's, however I can still hear those "vaffanculos" clamoring from the Bel Paese.

And anyway, aren't Italians smarter than that? In the Season With Verona book Tim Parks writes about when the Brigate went down to the Bari game, and one of the Gialloblu fans lost his special Verona hat...it flew towards the Bari section in the stands that was controlled by the police. The Verona fan screamed to the Police, however they wouldn't do anything about it. Then the fan protested and asked the Bari supporters to fetch his hat for him, and kindly enough they did, luckily enough, throwing it back to him. The Brigate broke out in a song of praise to the Bari supporters, "Forza Bari," and there seemed to be a general feeling of compassion between the two groups. Then shortly after kickoff, the Brigate continued their usual "Bari Bari vaffanculo!" and the home side fought back with their anti-Veronese slander.

Is this the norm in Italy? If one party makes a very nice gesture towards the other, such as in the case above, or Berlusca loaning us Abbiati, the other group is eager to give them thanks, almost following an unwritten law in Italian culture. However, when the good deed is forgotten and all is well again, the animosity seems to return and both parties continue on with their old ways. I can tell you one thing, Milan will not recieve any songs of praise when we meet them later this season (so I assume). So could this Berlusca ploy actually succeed in such an enviorment of thanks but no thanks?
Good post but the difference here is that there is a greater stake at play: POWER. Berlusca is losing his grip on popularity due to his lax on dire economic issues and spending too much time defending himself rather than 'leading'. I think he can do it but thats another discussion.
Fan rivalry will never die...and believe it or not while Juventini, Romanisti and Laziale may hate Berlusca they voted for him. Berlusca's move was very coy and went beyond Milan and Juve's cordial relationship...while they will continue with the "Serie B" chants they will easily give in to a 'why not' when faced with Berlusca's name on the ballot.
Its not a sure thing but it does more good than bad for his popularity. More over, the Agnelli's have always been Berlusca supporters and its no surprise that Berlusca wants his fans too. They are much more willing to bend on political views than club colors.

Of course some Juventini who are more right-sided will vote for Berlusconi because there aren't many other options to choose from. But I would tend to think if somebody holds true to their political views, such as the bullheaded Republicans in my country, they will stick with their party's candidate no matter the little token of kindness. Could he usher in some more neutral voters? Probably, so you're right, this was just a smart move for himself.

On your typical Italian Presidential ballot sheet, how many names are usually printed on there? I know Italy has several different political parties...how many actually have a chance of winning?

Inability to accept others beliefs..ok then. This is going to be that same pointless argument all over again about religion isn't it, where I'm not allowed to be critical but you're allowed to feed us constant tripe about the saviour of humanity. Riiight.

If I was fit enough to be a mod in the eyes of the person that matters thats good enough for me. I wouldn't expect you to approve since I'm not one of your brotherhood. You'd ban me on what grounds exactly.. I mean honestly I was close to hitting your ban button a few times because you're simply put a complete and utter prick but thats not actually against the forum rules in itself so I let you be.
