My condolences, Nick.

This only goes to prove how much the CL is filled with a lot more luck and chance than the grind-out elimination of the campionato. It certainly makes for excitement, but it's a terribly flawed system/process for truly choosing the European champion, IMO.

I say this as a fan with a similar experience in the CL final in 2003, of course.
