Minnesota had one of the best drafts early on.
Troy Williamson was a need, because as good as Mike Williams is, he doesn't have the flat out spped that Williamson does. And lining up Erasmus james on the other side of the Defensive Line with Kenechi Udeze lining up on the opposite side will give them a fearsome pass rush.
I REALLY love what San Francisco did with their first two picks (Smith and Bass), then I don't know what the hell happened.

If I´m not mistaking he tried to get in the draft as Clarett did and then got suspended for it, and was also injured.
I´m pissed the draft wasn´t shown on TV over here, haven´t had time to look over all the picks yet. Surprised that Rodgers and Johnson fell as far as they did. Would also have thought that Miami would pick Benson.

Mike Williams tried to follow Maurice Clarett into the NFL Draft last year, when it was ruled in a lower court that Clarett could go. However, when a higher court overturned that decision, Williams was screwed.
Willliams WANTED to go back to school, but the NCAA, in all its infinite wisdom,denied him that opportunity. As you can see, his departure really hurt USC, as they went on to win the National Championship.
I'm not surprised that Rodgers fell as far as he did. Besides San Francisco, the teams in the Top 20 really didn't need a Quarterback, and Rodgers isn't as good as Alex Smith. My best friend happens to be a Green Bay fan, and he told me that if Rodgers was taken first by San Fran, then Alex Smith would have dropped to #24.
Wrong-O. Simth is the better prospect, and Smith was the reason why there were up to 6 offers on the table to San Francisco to get that #1 pick.
Benson sucks. Ronnie Brown is a better overall back. I'm not surprised Derrick Johnson fell as far as he did. He tends to shy away from contact.
Still can't believe that Earnest Shazor hasn't been drafted yet. If he is still there in the 5th round, San Fran HAS to take him. The Kid's a beast at Strong Safety.

Paul, if Lapo Elkann takes over the club, will we be safe? From what I have seen it seems he does not know much about football and wants to have some sort of revolution such as Chelsea. If this is true I hope somebody who knows what they're doing is in charge of the squad proceedings at the club. Immediate success such as Chelsea does not always work; you need moderation. Times without the triad don't look entirely safe.
