You cant compare the UK with America, the USA is like 892x bigger than the UK, so if the UK had as many universities as America there wouldnt be any space left for people to live

I dont mean amount of choice or amount of Universitys boys. This isnt my opinion its something pretty well known. The top Unis like Cambridge, Oxford, Yale, Harvard match each other out or maybe American takes it. But out of the rest the UK unis are rated a great deal higher.

Its not my opinion its a fact, or atleast was. Maybe things changed since last time I spoke about this

Not true. Anyone in the UK can go to Uni if they pass a levels which arent that hard. You said college. Everyone goes to college. We rate college like you rate final years at highschool. Its high school > college/alevel > uni.

Every person has a chance to go to Uni also. But they have to work for that chance and cant pay their way in like americans. You tell me whats more fair?

There is a limit to admission in Holland. You must have either:

• A bachelor's degree, or;
• A VWO/Atheneum degree

The latter is very complicated to explain because in the Dutch system; pupils have to take a test in their last year at primary school after which is determined at which level of highschool you can participate. There are 5 levels of high school, only the top two offer you a chance of entering a university and ONLY if your grades are high and you pass the admission exam of the university in question.

But we're an exception I've heard so I wouldn't have expected any foreigner to know this. I mean, we're not exactly a global power here.

No you got it wrong, that's only for presidential candidates, the rest actually have to take standardized tests and pass them.

You arent getting it. I mean a higher level of Academics, a tougher curriculum. Not a choice of course where you can study something insignifcant or play on a sports team. Americans go to Uni for the purpose of going to Uni. British go to Uni so they can compete in the job market.

Italy from what I see has more or less the same high school system....you can follow various "paths" depending on your grades early on, etc.
It seems good on paper but I don't agree with the theory..

some of the smartest kids in Elementary School and early high school mow my parents lawn everyweek

The best University system is the Canadian one. ANYONE has a chance to go from the top rate to the lowest rated Colleges/Universities. Tuition is 1,000 a SEMESTER (!) for schools that match Harvard and Yale (a bit more for a for. student but still).
Burke..its a sneaky system we have in the U.S. A strong high school student will NEVER get into a top rate University without MONEY...only the MONEY or TOP TOP students can attend the top rated schools for which there are many. In this way the American Dream in Academics is horsesh*t....not ANYONE can make it to Harvard or Stanford. The silver spoons can or those with insane SAT scores. Thats flawed.
