I'm listening to it now...

While Rain Man sounds great, I still think he crossed the line when talking about the late Chris Reeves.
Well, maybe so. I think Em wrote that stuff before Mr. Reeves died, though. But people should be used to this kind of stuff by now, he always crosses the line somewhere.

Yeah, you would've thought that he had grown up by now, instead of making fun of the disabled (now deceased).

Had he grown up that would have left a lot of people disappointed. Not really the type to grow up either.

Well, he does go a bit too far sometimes. But that does not take away from his talent of creating great music.

Why? Wearing a superman costume makes you super? Eminem has worn a superman costume also so arent they equal on super level?

He can still do extremely well just by cutting out the sophmoric crap.

Also, his style hasn't evolved that much since his last album.

His lyrical flow and delivery grew by leaps and bounds from the Marshall Mathers LP to The Eminem Show.

He kinda stalled in that regard with this new album. And his self-produced beats are all starting to sound the same.

I won't even get into the disgraceful display he put on in producing the new Tupac album, purposely speeding up and slowing down Tupac's voice to fit his beats.

No, Marshall, when you have masterful lyrics like Tupac's, you conform your beats to fit his style, not the other way around.

This is really a reply to Vinny, I don't know if he's gonna read this but maybe Sergio could pass it on to him if you have a chance to do that..

If you have a problem with me, or have had problems with me in the past, you should have done the right thing, and PM'ed me

How many times have I been banned ??

All these problems I'm giving you, why should I bother staying around ???
I have to say I had no idea you would leave over this. And I certainly did not intend that when I posted. To be honest, in my history here there was one poster I wanted to get rid of and not because the person was a troublemaker but I didn't like their style and I thought the person didn't fit in. We had a few PM sessions when I'd be unhappy about something they did, probably unfairly strict because of my prejudice. Finally the person did leave and I felt guilty about it later. That was the one case a few years ago, every other person in here I've been able to deal with one way or another and accept who they are, sometimes without agreeing with one word they had to say or understanding them at all.

I just didn't expect a reaction as strong as that when I posted. And much like in life, in here relationships between members are nuanced, they're not pure. We do not either love or hate each other, there's a lot of mixed feelings. I've had cases in the past when I banned members whom I liked because they just couldn't control themselves in conflict and caused a lot of damage to the community. Vinny is a guy I like on a personal level, he never gave me reason to dislike him. I even thought at one point this is someone I might get along with in person.

But Vinny is also a problematic poster. I expected a couple of people would agree with what I said but it turned out to be many more than I thought it would be. And that goes to show that I said some things that a lot of people were already thinking. I posted it in the thread because everything else was already in the open. And since Vinny is a straight talker, I didn't think he would take it so hard. What I said in no way indicated or meant he was on the verge of getting banned, it was more like an epilogue to a warning that should have been given earlier. Vinny has never been banned and we've never considered banning him. There have been some tense moments but they're history. I enjoy his blunt post match talk, for instance, and I agree with those who criticize the over protective attitude a lot of juventini have of their heroes. I also disagree with most of his political opinions.

Anyway, what I said was harsh and tactless. I didn't want Vinny to leave. He is problematic at times but I do like him and I know a lot of people do.

Martin, I don't know when I'll be talking to him again, but he has my home and work#, so it should be soon.

One thing that he did say, though, and myself knowing this from talking to him, is that he is, by nature, a calm and reasonable person.

Very calm, in fact, and a great person to talk to. Once he gets on here, however, he gets aggravated to the point where you all can see the end result. That's kind of strange, wouldn't you think?

If I didn't like him as much as I do on a respect and friendship level, I wouldn't be going to bat for him the way that I am. However, he is going to take some time off. How much? Don't know.
