So by your reasoning then that means that my wife, whom I've known for the better part of 12 years and has forgotten more about Yankee baseball than most people even know, and despite the fact that she became a Yankee fan because her father has been a Yankees fan since the late 50's, is unclassy then because she's from Rhode Island.
omg, your wife is so unclassy. period.

No. If her family legacy that has been passed along from generation to generation calls for her to be a Yankees fan than there is nothing wrong with that.

Fli, stop acting like a 16 year-old girl.

Good Answer.

You KNOW I was about to fly to Penn State and kick your ass. Only after we got stoned out of our mind, and only after I help you score some willing and stupid freshmen cheerleaders.

THEN I would kick your ass.

But we'd gotta be careful which cheerleaders to pick, because a few of them "have been 'round the block a few times and came back with souveniers." Those are the excessively willing ones; the better lot take a bit of coaxing. ;)

Basically

maybe Andy will tell her to support her home team (Red Sox) because she's from New England.

but why should she support the Boston Red Sox if they SUCK ?!

What if some unclassy hick from Pennsylvannia or wherever unclassy hicks come from has had a family tradition like that?

I highly doubt so many families have that tradition. That would mean millions of families have a Yankees background. Be realistic here.

The Red Sox just beat the worthless Yankees. All that money from Georgey boy bought a team of losers. I find that rather hilarious.

At least one family of unclassy hicks could have it, afterall baseball is called America's favorite pastime and is very popular, so probably lots and lots of unclassy hicks and their families have watched it since forever.

Yes, but overall the Yankees are more sucessful, the Red Sox hadnt won the American League since the 80s and the World Series since like 86 years ago

Yankee fans who live outside of New York City, including those who live in these parts of the country are usually uneducated hicks or losers who have nothing else better to do than to wear a Yankees hat and brag about how their "favorite team" always wins. They always find a way to annoy people, even those who do not care like myself. Its a stupid fad which has gone to mainstream culture; even that idiot Fred Durst is a Yankee "fan." Unclassy, period. People who live anywhere else from New York in America have no reason to like the Yankees except to take part in a fad or be "cool" like Fred Durst ( ) or to like a team who wins all the time. That is my take of it.

Edit: This excludes people from other countries. People in Japan go crazy about the Yankees because that is all they know. People here should know better.
I live ouside NYC and I am a big Yankee fan, and so is my dad and the rest of my family

That doesnt make us trailer-trash, does it Andy ?????

I thought I said people in New York were exempt, not just NYC...

Of course you're excluded if your family has always been Yankees fans.

Andy .. reading your post one can easily substitute the word Yankees for Juve and it would apply. Many Juve fans were seen in the same light. So by your rationale there is no reason for you to be a Juve fan..its just a fad and you babble how your team "wins"..yada yada yada.
    DROP IT.
