Vinman, I loved Boom Boom Mancini! I had no idea he was your cousin. That Duk Kim fight was a tragedy for sure.

Also, thank you for ending that mind-numbing talk about fat.

So . . . 20-team Serie A - who is getting relegated?

I will venture:

18th : Reggina
19th : Siena
20th : Messina
Thanks Pado... its nice to know that he is still appreciated !!!!

Well, of course he's appreciated.

He's a Paesano, after all.

And Livingstone Bramble still can't hold a candle to Ray.
Believe it or not, Ray and Bramble ended up becoming friends after their second fight

Sergio, if you remember the first fight, it was in Buffalo NY, because thats where most of our family is from. Ray dedicated the fight to my late grandfather. It was a terrible night however. By the 3rd round, I was crying !!!!

Bramble got into Ray's head before the fight, calling him a "murderer" and a "motherf*cker" among other things. Ray really wanted to hurt him, and he overtrained for the fight.

2 weeks before the fight, he wasnt feeling right, went to the doctor and then found out that he was anemic- low iron in his blood. The doc said postpone the fight, but it was damn near a sellout, Ray thought he cant cancel.

Anyways, he had nothing that night. For him to even go 14 rounds with no power or energy that night was a testament to his heart, which I admire even to this day.....

My dad and I picked him up from the hospital the next day and he was a mess. Bruised, cut, and peeing lots of blood- it was bad !!!!

The rematch was a good fight, Ray lost by 1 stinking point....No excuses, but Bramble tested positive for illegal stimulants after the fight, but no protocol was in place at the time for what to do in case of a positive test (this was not long after the Pryor-Arguello "give him the mix" match)

I still remember Warren Zevon's song "Boom Boom Mancini"

"Hurry home early,
Hurry on home,
Boom Boom Mancini
is fighting Bobby Chacon"

RIP- Warren Zevon

Well, Vin.

Football starts thursday. Psyched?

I think New England is going to repeat as champions. In fact, I have tickets for Thursday night's game at Foxboro.

Which reminds me. I ahve mny Fantasy Football draft tomorrow, and I'm woefully un-prepared.

Since the Buffalo Bills are so woeful, I'm not too excited.

When we start to show more promise, then I'll pay more attention..................

lol-any bets on the Redskins? :D yeah, the pats seem strong as usual....wonder how philly will do this year
The first time Donavan McNabb throws a 100mph bullet 10 feet over Terrell Owens' head should be very interesting in Philly.

Well, my Niners will be fighting it out for worst overall record in the league, the Bills should be an interesting team with Magahee and Henry at Running Back, and the Redskins brought back Joe Gibbs, so you never know. Problem is though, they lost their best lineman, Jon Jansen to an ACL injury, so I don't know how well Portis is going to do running the ball this year.

Still keeping him on my fantasy team, though.

 @ Redskins. Sorry, but this year isn't gonna be the same Gibbs team as 12 years ago. Not to mention the injuries abound in the Redskins camp. So don't be too excited Redskins fans. :D

You know whose gonna do something this year in the NFL? DO you KNOW???

The Detroit Lions. :D

Marriucci is gonna take us to the Playoffs baby. :D

I'm a Green Bay fan, but you gotta love the Bills. So the Bills could have two great running backs in the team this year. I bet they follow the NFL model -- When you have two greats at one position, trade one of them for shite. Good Old NFL Parity tactics:down:

I know a little bit, only because the fighter who was killed was Korean. They had a (boxing) fight, and a few days later Kim Duk Koo died in hospital from head injuries
