Actually once again I think you can blame Thomas Cooley Law School :cheesy:
Rush: bah...

Nothing to write home about Mate.
Given the Rolling Stones contribution to rock n roll and music in general its a sin saying they have not contributed. When you are the Rolling Stones you can sit on your arse and eat donuts all day and still be a legend. Given what they have accomplishment the fact they still put on a show and then some makes up for the "Love is Strong" on the albums.
Once again, you take a quote and totally run in the wrong direction with it. I did not say that the Rolling Stones have not contributed to music. That would be an awfully incorrect, and more importantly, ignorant comment for me to make. What I'm saying, and you probably agree with me on this, is they haven't made a truly good album since Tattoo You, and that was over 20 years ago. The only halfway decent one has been Voodoo Lounge, which, coincedentally, happens to have Love is Strong, as well some other really good songs like You got me Rocking, Out of tears, and Sparks will Fly.
Bridges to Babylon was abyssmal, to say the least, although the tour itself was very good, and the four new songs on Forty Licks are average, at best. They could have used those spots to put Hang Fire and Waiting on a Friend on the album instead. A group like the Rolling Stones shouldn't rest on their laurels. They pushed the envelope of Blues and Rock n' Roll for so many years, and yes, they can still definitely play, the skill is there, so the songwriting must be there as well, one would think.
This isn't KISS, for god's sakes, who have crapped all over the legend they created for themselves by trolling out there with another "Farewell Tour" year after year, this time with Poison. At least last year they toured with Aerosmith last year, so half the show was good.
And for the record, Rush is still an excellent group, and they still put out good albums and a great show. But, to each their own.
Interesting Tidbit- during The Rolling Stones' 1981-82 tour, guess who the opening act was.
Prince.

He and Mick have been friends ever since.
