Americans amongst us...
Where would you say was a better place to buy a holiday home and why?
Fort Lauderdale, Kissimee or on the outskirts of San Francisco
Been to all many times and liked equally, but where is better to stay for a longer period of time
Cheers
If money is not an issue, then San Francisco would be the place to be.
I've been there twice to watch my football team play, the San Francisco 49ers (how's THAT for loyalty

), and it is the most culturally diverse, and progressive thinking location out of the three.
In fact, San Francisco and Montreal are far and away my two favorite cities in North America that I've seen.
I like Fort Lauderdale a lot, especially when I was younger during my spring break days.
Kissimmee, I have to agree with Vil on this. It's a no man's land.
Of course, Paul, it all depends on what you want to do. The Summers in San Francisco are not that good, as it never gets above 22 degrees there, but the winter months are very mild, around 15 degrees or so. That's how its been when I've been there to watch a couple of playoff games.
Florida, meanwhile, is very hot and humid in the Summer, but the cost of living and housing there is much cheaper, and there are no state income taxes, and the real estate taxes there are very cheap as well.
San Francisco is murder for real estate taxes.
