Well yes, Alex does indeed deserve full marks as being the first to sniff out your "fact" as being a lie. However, Alex did not fully expose the depth of your mistake. Infact, I took it only a bit further by showing that the three clubs that finished last in their respective groups all participated in the next season's league. I did not realize I was going to have to go even further or that you would persist in your lie, Nick. In 1913, Italian football did not have the promotion-relegation system that is in place today. It would have been impossible. Clubs were created and immediately played in the league. Many clubs would just as quickly disappear, or merge with another club, or merge with two other clubs due to financial reasons and lack of fan support. I failed to point out that , in addition to the Northern qualifying round, there was also a South/Central qualifying round that had two groups of clubs. The last place finishers did not get relegated form that group either.
Now, here is the point: The Juve of 1913 only played a total of 10 matches. No club gets relegated based on a ten match season. The punishment, in that set up, was not advancing to the next round.
This is why I called your a "liar". You obviously did not like that. What should I have called the man who created a thread called "Juve Fact of the Week" for the purpose of, not giving facts about our club, but fordiscrediting our club with slanderous lies? What should I have called you? I didn't think "that rascally Milan fan" was strong enough wording. I am happy to have gotten your attention.
I like you Nick, and I appreciate our reparte here in the forum, but be warned that I wll attack all men that attack my club with what I see as lies (as opposed to honest mistakes). I know the history of my club, and I do research before I make wild accusations concerning facts that can be proved. In other areas, if it is merely opinion or personal taste in question, then attack away.
