I see it like this, Mr. Panucci: Catania got an early goal, it was offside, but still a fucking sweet volley. Then, with a lead, they were able to put 11 men behind the ball in their bunker. We laid seige on their goal, but god damn, can any one at Juve cross the ball? A couple good crosses could have opened up that tight defense. Also, Nedved needed to come off 30 minutes sooner than he did. Not his day.
I don't know if that was offsides or not. Seeing it a few times I can't even tell. But the player to blame for the goal was Molinaro, as he did come back to pick up Spinesi after the rest of the line pushed forward on the offside trap. That action made the decision close, and if Molinaro had pushed up like the rest of the defense, offsides was a sure bet.
And yeah, we cannot cross worth a shit. But the funny thing is, we continue to use the straight 4-4-2 formation, one in which crossing is a vital part of your attack. Yet we don't have the players to field such a formation since Camoranesi is out of action. Like I said in another thread, it's like that retard Mancini using a 4-3-3 with three strikers up top and Chivu in midfield... just doesn't make any sense.
With Camoranesi out, our best players are up top and through the middle. So why not use something that works to our strengths? The 4-3-3 comes to mind, bu no, we can't use that. I mean this stuff just makes me sick because the problem is there for all to see. People on this forum love to sugar coat it, saying we had 60% of the possession, but did it seem like we would score? Absolutely not.
And some fools here say we had control of the match. LOL! Having four strikers on the pitch at one time is surely having control of the match...
