There's no way either one of us is going to prove anything using statistics, so it's stupid to even try, Rab. Milan might be better in a one off game against Man U, but overall I think the EPL is of a higher level. Even if you would disagree, you'd have to admit both the English and Italian are equally entitled to claim to have the best competition. The EPL is quality, there are lots of good players in the English national team and David Beckham is one heck of a player. These are things some people in this forum will have to accept.

Back to my original point though, the Italian press are quite notorious for being horribly biased when it comes to issues involving Italian products, Italian football or Italy towards the outside world. Why talk bad about England if Italy's just the same?

Thing is Italy is passing through some good moment, and while It lasts, you should expect the Italian press to react this way.

McClaren doesn't create the ugly English style - what the hell are you talking about? No matter how England takes the pitch, they will play with that same sort of aggressive, fast-paced, direct sort of play without any other tricks up their sleeve. That's the English brand of football. McClaren didn't create that, it's inherent within every player who has come up through the English brand of football throughout the past two decades. Like I said in the previous post, England has employed the same style of play for as long as I can remember, even before Keegan was in charge. They might have switched the formation numbers around, but they still play with the same style which every half decent football fan can see.

A few English football pundits have come out to say in recent months that England has a problem holding the ball and adapting to certain situations, and I wholeheartedly agree with them. If people cannot see that, then I don't know what they're doing watching football.

And what did SWP and Gerrard do in these past few qualifiers? Absolute fuckall. I don't care if they're pleasant or not to watch... who cares. They didn't perform. McClaren made mistakes. The whole tomato is rotten, not just one side of it.
