The thing I don't get about iPod people is why they need 60gb of music _on them_. I mean you can change the contents of that drive, it is re-writable. I have a 1gb iriver and it's about 2-3x the space I actually need.

I suppose if you're going on a 4 week fact finding mission in inner Mongolia and you can't bring your laptop..
I love that term, btw.

But yeah -- I had the same thoughts. I guess the only reason now for all that space is video clips. That seems to be what's driving the disk sizes on those devices these days, despite the fact that the quality is still poor on an iPod versus, say, even the Sony PSP.

Btw your signature makes me think. You know how some people have a "warm personality"? Is that really such a good thing with global warming and all.. :undecide:
One of my favorite eco-terrorist activities I've seen in the Bay Area from a few years ago... some people started slapping bumper stickers on some of the massive S.U.V.s that have been so popular here in recent years. The bumper sticker says, "I'm changing the climate. Ask me how."

It's perfectly fine if people hate rap and hip hop... as you said it's primarly all about taste in music. But what does not make any sense is how some opponents of rap state that this genre has no musical talent whatsoever and should not even be considered as music. That's just a lame duck's poor attempt at demeaning something they hate for the purpose of looking superior.

And by the way, I totally agree with your statement about Pink Floyd and Ja Rule.. they're completely worthless.
Why would someone not call hip hop a music genre? I am not a fan of the genre but it is music whether I like it or not.

Reminds me of those bastard ozone huggers who have sex multiple times each day of the year. At least the fat ones should be controlled.

Ah yes, video. Neat idea, but I don't find it appealing. There have been ways to watch videos on the go for years now, with pdas, laptops, phones, now media players. And that may all be very exciting, except for those who own computers and like to watch videos in decent resolution and quality.

Touché.

Man, at times I wish they would have done SOMETHING back then. Whenever it's about nations, they throw this in my face :D.
Although it's simply too easy to throw that in your face. I'd much rather castigate you for "making good waffles." :D

That's no reason to castigate. I was in Brussels in July and those waffles really are something else. :toast:
