The very discussion concerned who played the best football at the world cup. It was never about who won it. Focus, will yer.
no, the discussion is about the fact that cannavaro admited that italy didnt play their best (in my opinion)/the best (in your opinion) football at the wc.

i just derailed it as usual :D

Actually, we sucked ass in the 80s too. Well up to 88. When it comes down to it, we had two good spells: the 70s and the late 80s through the early 90s. It's why I don't consider Holland to be a great footballing nation. We didn't even exist as proper football nation before Cruyff.

And I'm not sure we deserve respect seeing as we usually don't win because we somehow self-destruct :D
I respect the Netherlands a lot as a footballing nation. Football wouldn't be the same without their contributions.

Reports in Italy are gathering pace that Milan will make a summer bid for Barcelona ace Ronaldinho.

The Brazilian was cautiously associated with a switch last summer, but no move took place for the South American.

However, the Rossoneri may make a firm offer at the end of this season even if whispers in Spain claim that 'Dinho is ready to extend his Barca contract until 2014.

Nevertheless, unconfirmed stories have claimed that Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has recently met with Roberto Assis – Ronaldinho’s brother and agent.

The former Italian Prime Minister is a massive fan of the Samba star and its conceivable that the two men discussed a possible future switch.

Berlusconi’s son, Piersilvio, has also publicly admitted his admiration for the former Paris Saint-Germain forward.

“Ronaldinho is a great, but we need to see what happens with Milan this season first,” he stated on Monday.

“Only after that will the club decide whether to hit the transfer market before the start of the 2007-08 campaign.”

Milan playmaker Kaka has also invited his international colleague to join him at the San Siro.

“We have played together for Brazil for many years and that will continue,” said the former Sao Paulo sensation.

“If he came to Milan? I would be delighted and not in the slightest bit envious. Milan already have great champions, but it would be even better with him here.”

I don't see Barca letting go of him...plain and simple.

They should concentrate their efforts on defense..though there is a lack of Italian young defenders.

Pirlo-Kaka-Gila are still relatively young and big dogs .. Ronaldinho would be a gift to the 'tifosi'...nothing more.
