sorry, but maybe Holland doesnt risk the attack of a suitcase nuke, but places like NYC, Philly, and LA do...
Wrong. Terrorism in this part of the world dates back to the days of the Dutch Republic in the 1700s. More recently, in the 1970s the chances of finding yourself in a hijack situation when travelling with public transport were higher than winning the lottery, thanks to an ex-colony situation.

In the 1970s and the 1990s alike, terror attacks in their planning-phase were thwarted by the AIVD (our version of the CIA), some plans containing outlines of possibilities of attacks with biological and chemical weapons.

None of this is new.

so I would rather have a tighter government that keeps its citizens as safe as possible, than a lax one thats lets terrorists run around planning and committing mass murders using our constitution against us...thats just me though
There's a big difference between keeping your citizens safe, and stripping them of all their freedom. You can maintain an open and liberal society and counter terrorism at the same time. They are not mutually exclusive. Don't let your government tell you otherwise, they are usually just after more power.

impossible...

the terrorists are smart enough to use that to their advantage

as it is right now, they are getting away with everything but an attack...but that is coming very soon

remember Erik, I work in law enforcement...I know what we can and cant do

Oh please.. Its allways so much bigger and so much more urgent when it involves america... Do you really think that all the european nations havent at points in their history lived in constant threat for year upon year or us and the spanish in daily threat from the ira and eta at their peaks for many many years not too mention whats going on now, yet none of thoses places have gone over the top like you have...

America is slowly becoming a dictatorship and a place to live in fear not in freedom...

You wanna live in a world like that.. fine, personally i'd rsather the european model, where basically everyone jus gets on with it ...

At the end of the day... terrorism cannot be beaten with enhanced security and turning the nation into a military state...

Whats next, enforced curfews, x-rays and searches at every turn... segregation and misstreatment of the various ethnic races within your country...

People are allready amongst you who would happily attack you, normal everyday people .. law abiding citizens... If they wanna do something they will, you nor anyone else can do anything about it...

You may foil the odd big plot, but you cant stop it... If anything you jus encourage more plots

We all wanna beat terrorism, but it needs to be done round a table not by seeing who has the biggest cock

Perhaps not right now but we've been there many times in the past and we will be again in the future. Turning your democracy into a dictatorship isn't the solution. This country (and many other European nations) has also already tried that too.

The measures being taken now don't fight terrorism, they fight only the last step of terrorism: execution of attacks. Allowing full body searches, x-rays, jailing without a charge and more is aimed to preventing the execution of plans, not destroying the actual roots of terrorism. These laws can never destroy terrorism and will, in the end, do more harm to the American people than any terrorist organisation will ever be possible of committing.

so what was the relation between iraq and 9/11?

Here is the relation . . . take notes:

11 September 2001 attacks were planned and carried out by a group of people that refuse to accept Jesus Christ as their lord and savior.

Iraq is home to millions of people who refuse to accept Jesus Christ as their lord and savior.

George W. Bush, as the freely-elected leader of Jesus Freaks Worldwide (JFW), had the duty to convert those savages and he is doing the lord's work. Mission Accomplished!.
