Iceland is in a league of its own :D

But it is not only about public transportation. I don't like Stockholm's subway :scared: You should see the 13 tram lines in Gothenburg. Gothenburg, where I live, is a city that was founded by Dutchmen by the way.
And they have the big hot tub in the middle of the capital city.

I don't find it very funny because this is clear disrespect for Kaka and football in general. These sports reporters only know about baseball and have no clue about the world's game. I should seriously become a commentator because these people know fuck all about our sport. Makes me sick.
If Kaka don't want to be dissed then he should tell his teamates to quit playing like shit.

When exactly did I say Belgium didn't exploit Congo? I'm sorry but I can't remember that. In fact I think any Belgian will instantly admit that. The US a young nation? Perhaps, but it's also supposed to be the most developed one. If a country wants to be the police of the world, it'd better have some high moral standards. Or do you seriously believe Guantanamo would be possible in Switzerland?
So what our country does some fucked up shit? We don't deny it. Just because we are the most developed country doesn't mean we don't exploit our own people in addition to those of other countries. Quite frankly in today's global society, what country doesn't exploit someone? Do you think the Shell company and BP made thier billions by being nice to African nations and not hiring mercenaries to murder innocent people? Come on open your eyes, the whole world is fucked up though its the US that is a major part of it.
On the matter of how the US treat its own citizens I fully understand that when I graduate from schoool most of us can look forward to 40 years of hard work to make some fat white bastard a rich man. It sucks, it truly does, but for those of us with a little brains and a lot of hard work we can make it out of that. But for all the bad the US has done, you can multiply that ten fold to show the amount of good the US and its people have done throughout the years. From stopping genocides around the world to rebuilding Europe after World War II, to keeping the Russians out of the West, Europe is indeed in debt the US. Though our recent foriegn policies have just about paid that debt. What has Europe done lately without the US, need I mention Kosovo? What about Rawanda? Separating a people by color of the skin and width of the nose, even the US wasn't that specific during our racist years. And after the massacre began, the UN did a damn good job of getting all the Belgians out. Enough of this rant.

The point is that while the US does a lot of bad these days, we also do some good. You're bashing of the US and the American people is quite offensive and disrespectful not to mention childish so do me a favor. Leggo my Ego.

They are clean and organized, but the tram is something not pleasant to ride in my opinion. I prefer to see people, roads, trees, houses etc. when going from one place to another. Maybe I should have said that I don't like subways in general.

Stockholm have trams in the summer only :D mainly a tourist attraction.

I will give you feedback on the trams when I come back from Amsterdam.
OK let me know.

And I agree that trams are uncomfortable in many ways.

I tried to watch a little ESPN for the first day's matches, side-by-side with the Univision coverage. That's all it took before I slapped myself and thought, "Did you expect anything less?"

I don't even know 80% of what those guys are saying in Spanish, and it's still 10x more entertaining and more accurate information than I can get off of ESPN. No annoying continuous "crawl", either, with updates of the ass-crack scratching lineup for the coming Pirates-Cardinals game blocking my view of large chunks of the pitch.

ESPN=soccer wannabe

All those Disney weasels should stick to the log rolling contests.
It's also funny listening to them point out simple facts about soccer to the "non-soccer watching" viewers." Coverage such as this makes me sick and it's quite embarrassing when our viewers cannot even understand the friggin offside rule.

Andy..are you really putting my distaste for the national team as a distaste for America and bunching me up with the people that put the nation down...shame on you..lowball and stupid.

    SEVEN:

Its actually the North American Dream: Kid is top his class in high school and scores great on SAT's...he wants to become a lawyer...he gets a scholarship based on his intellectual talent to a great school...he then goes on to a great Law school also on scholarship because he excels...suddendly a kid from mid lower income is at Yale Law...
In Italy that same kid would be at the University of Bologna...best law school in Italy in which first year classes are in the thousands and they barely select students..kid graduates and unless his parents are in tight with some lawyers he will be an unemployed lawyer...
Same in France and the others Erik listed...

    see the difference KID.

P.S. All your info on the US is based on media reports .. have you ever been?? How do you explain the incredible strides this young nation made in the last hundreds of years..all lies etc

You don't like Stockholm's subway? It's the cleanest I've seen in my life!

Trams I haven't seen anywhere in Sweden. How are they compared to Amsterdam?

You should have seen the Moscow subway at the height of Communist rule. That was one clean subway.

It was during the Argentina-Ivory Coast match that in the opeing 15 minutes we were already treated to the "It's like in game 7 of the World Series" and "This is similar to the NBA finals".

What a bunch of fuck sticks! In only 15 minutes we already had the MLB reference and the NBA reference. What they should have said is, "For all those viewers who are two chromosomes short and have never ventured off your sofas or out of your bags of chips, this is what the rest of the world loves and it is nothing like Baseball, basketball, fucking your mom's new boyfriend, or NASCAR, so watch it if you like but please do not comment on the action."

I did request that the bar turn the sound off or switch to Spanish.

To be honest, that is exactly what you're doing. You are putting our nation down when you speak about our soccer, never making a decent remark about us and chastising every single accomplishment we make. From what I have seen it sincerely seems you just want our nation to lose so you can go on a rant about how much we suck and how Italy is easily the better side. Distaste for the national team and distaste for our nation is essentially the same thing in my eyes...there is no two ways when you're actually an American.

How about the phantom penalty called at the start of the second half against Ukraine. Absolutely no contact was made with Torres, he got off his shot (straight to the 'keeper) and then fell. Red card and PK. I know one referee who can catch an early flight home, his work is done.

:howler: You seriously believe that ANYONE who has the will to work will reap the benefits in your country? Check again, as pay checks in the US can be ridiculously low when compared to European ones. No, Nick, your father just got lucky, the American Dream holds no truth whatsoever.

this coming from a 19 year old kid who has never stepped foot in America, and doesnt understand how things work here

sorry kid, your education of America is either from some anti-American books or CNN...that doesnt cut it

IF you apply yourself here, you will succeed ...plain and simple

and if you dont..... well you can collect welfare and receive food stamps, courtesy of our government.... and hang out with your hommies all day, 24/7

either way, you'll get what you want
