Okay I was unfortunately unable to see most of the match because I came back too late from the golf course. I still believe Bruce wants to use the 4-3-1-2 against the Czechs and Italians because he favors such a foremation against the truly superior sides. The loss against Morocco is quite worrying because Ghana is twice as fast as they are, so hopefully when we play them we will be sure to have the flanks covered because that is where a speedy team like Ghana will beat us.

AND CONSIDERING the past two matches, I think it is imperative we find a way to fit Bobby Convey in the starting eleven someway, somehow. DUDE, that kid has been tearing up the left flank like none other recently and his performance against Fabiana's country today was absolutely supurb. He was breezing by Venezuelan defenders like they were high schoolers out there. Every time he received the ball on the wing he beat a defender and was able to get off a cross, and I have to say his crosses are superior to those of Beasley. We must find a way to insert Convey into the side because his confidence is sky high at the moment and we need those crosses from the flank.

But our conundrum is also the form of Dempsey and trying to decide which of the attacking middies to start under which system. I have a feeling Bruce will opt for the usual duo of Donovan and Beasley and that's unfortunate because Convey is in such amazing form. Perhaps he will be our secret weapon this summer. I wish we would have experimented more with Bobby at left back because he's not bad defensively either.

HERE is how I think we can beat the Czechs on June 12th:

Keller

Cherundolo - Onyewu - Pope - Bocanegra

Mastroeni - Reyna - Convey

Beasley - Donovan

Mcbride

Mastroeni will be the key in shutting down Nedved on their left flank, and that is crucial to our success. Reyna will be controlling everything through the center and also being warry of Rosicky while Convey will trouble the old and aging Poborsky on the left flank. I can see Convey dance around Poborsky and cause a lot of trouble for Grygera with his good speed. Considering Gibbs is out I suppose we have to field Pope at the back, unless we use Bocanegra centrally and field Lewis. However, I do not feel comfortable with him at the back against the Czechs. Beasley and Donovan will run at the Czech defense all day and thats what we need to do...pressure them into making mistakes. I like the looks of this team, as well as Dempsey coming on for Beasley if needs be.

The biggest thing will be shutting down Nedved and Rosicky and I think Mastroeni and Reyna are capable of that. Now all we have to do is make sure we put the ball in the net and pressure the fuck out of those Czechs and we have ourselves a good match. :pint:
I like how you think though Landon and Convey could be intermixed. As for center back, don't forget Berhalter is back baby:D . And I think inserting Johnson in support of McBride in a sort of Cisse at Liverpool role (half middie and half forward) is a must to exploit the age of the Czechs. Ill probably miss t the Latvia game tomorrow but let me know how it goes.

:(
Now that I am clear of my self-imposed press silence, I can now declare these rumors to be little more than lies and innuendo.

It is true that my wife and I have been spotted with Rui Costa in the Chiado neighborhood of Lisboa, dining over sopa de couves and bacalhau à Gomes de Sá while whispering into mobile phones. And while all three of us are enthusiastic supporters of Selecção Nacional Portuguesa, we also know that true fans of the Portugal NT hug only the extremes of, "This team defines 'suckiness'" (see: WC 2002, Euro 2006 U-21s) to "They rock the world!" (see: Euro 2000 & 2004).

Given that I fit somewhere in the middle, no Portuguese person would talk to me. Well, that and I cannot speak Portuguese other than the words, "Máis cerveza, obrigado!" So, my wife, Manuel and I have reached an agreement: I will continue to post only on Juventuz.com and only in English for the time being.

That is unless the Portuguese NT wins the WC, in response to which I will utter the phrase, "Louvado seja Deus, matança!" -- a sort of Portuguese variant of "Mama mia, pizzeria!" which pretty much translates to, "Praise the Lord, I got your lingüiça right here!"

Its one player leaving... Get over it!
    Stam is "one player leaving".
Rui Costa is "one player leaving"

I'm sure you can appreciate that somtimes a departure is more than 'one player leaving' and for a piss poor excuse on top of it.

Yes, its more than your average player leaving, but its not as though you need him.. You have a great squad and his loss will make little difference...

Then compare that to our position...

Even if we manage to get away with it and stay in serie a we will lose half our squad (many of which have allready made themselves available to the market)due to the air around us, the new wage caps, the new direction the club is going in etc...

If we are relegated we lose virtually everyone(even our part owned players who will be picked up by their other halves)... Not only do we lose them all, we will lose them in a firesale for fuck all... We will be more than lucky to get even half our players real values... the vultures are allready swarming...

So yes at this time.. losing sheva is not a big deal...

I actually think its a very workable idea... Though it somewhat lets guilty parties off the hook.

It goes along way to reducing the overal damage to Serie A and italian football in general.. Especially on the world stage and from a financial viewpoint...

People have to realise this isnt just about punishing the likes of juve, lazio, fiorentina, inter, milan etal... If all or in some cases any of these teams are relgated the damage to serie A will be enormous...

The way i see it, If the teams involved are publicly found guilty, play from a disadvantaged starting position and radical proposals are brought into the italian game to clean it up and make everything transparent... Then this is actually a good idea to help secure the future of Serie A

So we should be on the lookout for a new female member here with the nick UrinariaRossonera?

Just as I said for Zizou on why he would never return to Torino in an administrative role...

Sheva: if the wife can't take the town, it's time for a new wife. :agree:

Paul, what do you think of Corioni's suggestion?
    Too good to be true.

Oh Jack, that would make for an exciting championship. I love the idea, but even if we started off with -10 points, it would be seen as nothing but a slap on the wrist. Therefore, I don't think the FIGC would go for it.
