Why do people keep talking of henry going to milan... The guy has jus a few days ago signed a new 4 year contract on ridiculous money (that milan would in no way match) with dial... On top of that henry to is heavily influenced by his wife who is english and has many times stated her unwillingness to leave her home and family...

The horse is a much more likely option, or even jus settling with hernan's return...

The horse is probably going to Inter, this leaves Milan with either Adriano or a combination of Zlatan and Crespo with Gilardino going our way.

Paul, all I said was that Henry would be an adequate replacement, not that he is actually going there

You believe Gila will quit the club he wants to play for (with newly formed space for him) at such a young age to possibly play in serie b with a massive paycut ?

All the things I said are with the assumption that Juventus will still be in Serie A.

Are we sure family questions are the only reason? Any chances that the 200.000 euros a week he has been promised play a part in it too? Just a thought..
could be but i am not sure that money is the main motivation for sheva, he ahs always struck you as a sensible guy and he clearly understands that this is the best move for his family. if it was a purely football reason he would stay at milan where he is adored. he will be a big miss to serie a

I've been in the Rayburn Building (back when I was "bartender to the senators" in a previous life). They have metal detectors galore before anyone can get it.

So for someone firing a gun inside the building, it makes me wonder if it was security or something someone smuggled in...
It was Cheney ;)

Paul, with all due respect that is bunch of horsesh*t...not the statement or the mentality putting family first...nothing but respect for that but rather the REASON. I highly doubt his model turned mother/wife was really thinking about the best interest of her child and husband when she suggested the move...it is no secret that she is close the Russian's (Roman A.) wife and God knows she probably lavished his wife on spending sprees and what life could be like for Chelsea's nouveau riche....quite a change from Milan where rich models and players wives are aplenty. If she truly thought about her husbands best interests she would realize he was living the professional life that many could only dream of: adoring fans...legendary status before his 30th Birthday...Club constantly building the team around him, etc. The owner and former Italian PM being the GODFATHER to his son. She could have lived with this "hard" and "miserable" life for another 4-5 years before...

Sorry Paul but the reason lies in not in the family but in the age old theory "the grass is greener on the other side"....Professionally he will regret it...wait and see.

He will remain one of my favorites and his accomplishments will not be forgotten but I stand by my statement that it is a PUSSY'S way to depart....

    @Andy

Correction man. We played a 4 - 3 - 3 against Morocco with Beasley and Wolff on the wings supporting McBride. Donavon was running the midfield with Reyna and O'Brien playing deeper supporting rolls. Which was never going to work against Morocco's 4-5-1. You could also call it a 4 - 2 -1 - 2 - 1. This is how we should line up tonight.
Okay I was unfortunately unable to see most of the match because I came back too late from the golf course. I still believe Bruce wants to use the 4-3-1-2 against the Czechs and Italians because he favors such a foremation against the truly superior sides. The loss against Morocco is quite worrying because Ghana is twice as fast as they are, so hopefully when we play them we will be sure to have the flanks covered because that is where a speedy team like Ghana will beat us.

AND CONSIDERING the past two matches, I think it is imperative we find a way to fit Bobby Convey in the starting eleven someway, somehow. DUDE, that kid has been tearing up the left flank like none other recently and his performance against Fabiana's country today was absolutely supurb. He was breezing by Venezuelan defenders like they were high schoolers out there. Every time he received the ball on the wing he beat a defender and was able to get off a cross, and I have to say his crosses are superior to those of Beasley. We must find a way to insert Convey into the side because his confidence is sky high at the moment and we need those crosses from the flank.

But our conundrum is also the form of Dempsey and trying to decide which of the attacking middies to start under which system. I have a feeling Bruce will opt for the usual duo of Donovan and Beasley and that's unfortunate because Convey is in such amazing form. Perhaps he will be our secret weapon this summer. I wish we would have experimented more with Bobby at left back because he's not bad defensively either.

HERE is how I think we can beat the Czechs on June 12th:

    Keller

    Cherundolo - Onyewu - Pope - Bocanegra

    Mastroeni - Reyna - Convey

    Beasley - Donovan

    Mcbride

Mastroeni will be the key in shutting down Nedved on their left flank, and that is crucial to our success. Reyna will be controlling everything through the center and also being warry of Rosicky while Convey will trouble the old and aging Poborsky on the left flank. I can see Convey dance around Poborsky and cause a lot of trouble for Grygera with his good speed. Considering Gibbs is out I suppose we have to field Pope at the back, unless we use Bocanegra centrally and field Lewis. However, I do not feel comfortable with him at the back against the Czechs. Beasley and Donovan will run at the Czech defense all day and thats what we need to do...pressure them into making mistakes. I like the looks of this team, as well as Dempsey coming on for Beasley if needs be.

The biggest thing will be shutting down Nedved and Rosicky and I think Mastroeni and Reyna are capable of that. Now all we have to do is make sure we put the ball in the net and pressure the fuck out of those Czechs and we have ourselves a good match. :pint:

Hey Andy, congratulations for beating my country today!

That second goal by Dempsey was awesome
Thank you Fabi. Venezuela played well for parts of the match and it sucks your side wasnt able to field a full sqaud tonight. Arango played well in the first half and if you had a full squad available I'm sure you would have caused us far more problems and the score would not be as far apart.

I'm sure I'll be congratulating you on another victory in the near future.
