Once again the latter sentence of your post has no bearing in my opinion. We are talking about this match alone, no others. I can't say Liverpool deserved it more than Milan because the latter sure gave us a performance in the first half while Liverpool were indeed better in the second 45 but not as convincing as Milan through the duration of the entire game. I do agree that Liverpool's fightback was amazing and Milan should have done better, but as a neutral you must notice the decisions that changed the game; they were there for all to see. And to say that Liverpool absolutely deserved the trophy more than Milan is a fallacy; just look at the way Milan played throughout the duration of the match and tell me did Liverpool play better? IMO Liverpool played better than Milan for 10 minutes. Does Liverpool 'deserve' the CL trophy? All things considered yes they do.
It would be wrong if we saw this match out of context with the entire tournament. Fact is, Liverpool beat the odds in Juventus, Chelsea and Milan. Who were lucky enough to be in the final anyway. So yep, when all said and done, Liverpool deserve it more than Milan.

I bet Owen wishes he stayed at Liverpool.

I dont think Liverpool would be where they are if Owen was still around. Remember its his departure that allowed for the squad adjustments that have helped Liverpool progress this far.

But when we analyze the Final, you know, the match that was played yesterday, Milan played the better football and dominated 75% of the match. So are you saying Milan deserved to lose because Liverpool beat better teams on their way to the Final? Please Baggio.

Any team unable to hold on a 3 goal advantage at the midtime deserve to lose. period

The sad story is that Milan was playing much nicer football . Too often, thats not enough to win a game.
But , after seeing the game 3 times, i believe there are two factors that where instrumental in rossoneri defeat at Istambul:

1.- Carletto Ancelotti and his ability to arrive in second place. He is a great coach, he very good tactician, loved by his players but.... he lacks character. He demonstrated it at Juve and now this Milan, that is his masterpiece team, is showing that particular weakness (Depor, PSV, Palermo). When things get tough, Milan crumbles...particularly with bully sides, like juventus or Liverpool.

2. _ DIDA....FVcking pathetic. He was partially guilty in the three goals of Pool. First one, he misjudges and tryed to walk gerrard headshot, instead of jumping. In the second, he contacts the ball but was unable to contain. And in Xavi Alonso penalty he reject frontally, insted of get it aside....Frankly, there is still much distance between Gigi and dida....

Still, i enjoy very much the Milan performance in the first period.
When they arrived to the penalties shootout, they were already psychologically defeated.

And congrats to Pool to play with balls....
