Can you possibly explain to me how Michigan lost to Texas??

and the running QB theory doesn't apply here. Oklahoma won a NC with one in the 80's (Thompson) and Nebraska won in the 90's (Tommie Frazier).

It comes down to one thing in every big game that Michigan loses, and that's being outcoached. Its one thing to be outcoached by Pete Carroll last year, but to be out-coached by Mack Brown??? Dear God.
That is the first time, ever, that Mack Brown won a big game!!! But he did not outcoach Carr, imo. Michigan is a good team playing in a very average conference, which is why Michigan has a bad Bowl record. As soon as Michigan faces a decent team from outside the Big 10, they lose. Michigan is something like 1-31 vs. Top 25 teams outside Michigan Stadium.

Oh, he absolutely got outcaoched in this one.

Everyone knows that Texas WR corps this year was adequate at best, and that the only real threat was vince young running out of the backfield or rollout passing plays.

That being said, the strategy should have been was to put your all-american cornerback Marlin Jackson in one on one situations against Texas' top wideout, and allowing your other all-american, Safety ernest Shazor to act as a QB spy on young for most of the game. Basically all that had to be done was to make sure that your DL plugged the gaps up front to allow your Linebackers to make plays on Benson.

The problem was that Michigan got fooled time and again on misdirection running plays with Benson bouncing outside and gaining yardage. Now, they held him in check for the most part, but always gave up the critical 3rd down conversion to Texas.

Again, the problem with Carr is that he got out-coached.

Fli & Serge, while I have you here, I encourage you to follow my lead on the signature line, so we can keep a running competition going regarding how many shoes we fill in 2005.

I knew Michigan would have trouble with bastard young. Thats all Texas would do is these stupid running plays in which Young would look around for a bit, but then decide to not throw the ball because he sucks at the real job of a QB, throwing the ball. I would not say Carr got outcoached, he just did not know how to contain the freak show that Young put on. I have never witnessed such pvssy play when it comes to containing a running QB. Like I said before, Young beat Michigan, not that asshole Brown or his Texas team.

Michigan always finds a way to fvck up at the Rose Bowl, should have known they would lose again tonight. Bad thing is this year they actually deserved to win, as Henne and Hart gave great performances. That Young wouldn't be worth a shit in the NFL as a QB, he cannot throw a darring pass to save his life.

Hey Fli, nobody cares what you think. Just exit the premisses.

I'm not filling shoes this year.

I need to be a little more budget-conscious as I'm trying to buy my new Maxima, so I'm filling up Ziploc freezer bags.

The quart size of course.

And......................................wouldn't you say that his lack of halftime adjustments would be called being outcoached???

There's no shame in saying that Lloyd Carr just isnt a really good X's and O's guy. There are a lot of college coaches out there that are the same, such as Mack Brown, for instance. But I give Carr more credit, because I could go into UT and be able to pick from the cream of the crop of Texas high school football players and maintain a top 10 program, while Carr has to work harder on the recruiting trail

Not at all. He was outcoached by Young himself. Brown had no part in telling Young where to run as far as I know. Carr was not outcoached, he just sucks at managing the defense. Like I said before Brown is lucky he had Pele reborn into a "QB".

I feel you my brother, like Donny feels his oversized ballz. May I propose, for money saving purposes, simply filling the same shoe each time you flog the old Oak of Love?

And . . . Carr made halftime adjustments. I thought Texas dominated the first half, but because of its inability to pay attention to the nation's best receiver ended up tied at 14. Michigan came out of the halftime looking strong. When they built a 10-point lead I though Crack Brown was done. So, it must be Carr's poor 4th Quarter decision making you chirp about. Well, go fill up an empty bag of Tostitios because: 1. Auburn is the true National Champion, and 2. Michigan sucks.

Auburn is not the true national champion when you schedule a team like Louisiana Monroe to start the year.

Schedule some real competition to boost your strengh of schedule and then you can talk.

Case in point: Last year, USC had a tougher out of conference strength of schedule than either LSU or Oklahoma, and Oklahoma lost their conference championship, AND USC was ranked #1 in both polls, yet got shut out last year from the BCS.

What comnes around, goes around, and you can't have the #1 ranked team in both the BCS and the Polls from start to finish like USC was this year and NOT have them in the championship game again.

3. Maybe I shouldn't really care about college athletics, because both of my favorite teams suck.
However, Penn State just got a couple of killer commitments from a couple of freshmen this past week, including a WR by the name of Derrick Willimas, I believe, who is one of the best WR recruits in the country
