one of those that i didn't get along with :p

what about Nina? you still in touch with her? I just remember that world war between Arab members here and some Europeans, there was an Arab girl she was nasty she kept arguing with a member called sutnop If I am not mistaken with his name.

were they banned forever back then? it was at the time of 9/11 If I am not mistaken
That Sutnop went to another forum, and made the life of Roma fans hell with his posts...

I don't know where he went later though..

That would be something, wouldn't it? I land at the airport in Riyadh and I'm like "omg Saudis EVERYWHERE *runs and hides*" :D

No, actually it's because every picture I've seen of yours you looked kinda spooky :D
Maybe you are just used to whiteise and not wheaties :D

Actually, there was this girl called Lisa who was also a big Juve fan and whom I knew before I opened the forum (before that it was a fansite without any interactive things). She also liked the idea and we were the first moderators here. The first thing I did was spam all the Juve forums and mailing lists I knew saying juventuz has a forum now. :D It was only a handful of people at first, very quiet most of the time, there would be days when not one post was made. But steadily it grew and the people who'd been coming to the site starting posting on the forum.
Hmm sounds fun:D...Besides you and Lisa, do you remember the first member? Did you do much of promotion for the website? Meaning that you get Juventuz.com in the top ten when "Juventus" is searched on search engines (forgot the name of technique). How long did it take for the forum to actually take off and feel that all your effort was worthwhile?

Really? I thought you two got along fine..

Nope, she left a couple of years ago. Haven't spoken to her since ~2004.

That's ancient history, man. :D

Yeah, the girl who was banned really put the flames on a thread about 9/11 that turned it into the biggest flamewar juventuz has seen. It was after that I actually wrote the rules (that banned politics, for instance), before it we didn't really seem to need them.

That Sutnop went to another forum, and made the life of Roma fans hell with his posts...
That's hilarious :howler:

I liked sutnop a lot, it's just a shame he was such a troll. But a troll with respect for himself, he really knew a lot about Juve, he just expressed himself in a way that made it impossible not to ban him from time to time. You know it's odd sometimes how moderators have a good rapport with people they ban, because they both understand each other's position.

I don't know what that means :D

The third member I think was Elena, whom I mentioned a few posts ago. Erik and Nina registered around March 2001 I think. That was three months after the forum was launched.

Promotion heh, your field isn't it :D I exchanged links with a lot of footie sites. I also recruited some members from Xtratime (because XT only has one Juve forum and here was a whole forum dedicated to the subject).

But it took off in the summer of 2001. Oddly enough, the summers were the most successful for us, presumably because people stopped going to their old hangouts and stumbled upon other sites like juventuz. Our membership tripled that summer I think. Don't really recall any numbers anymore.

The search engines were tricky, there was no google back then (or rather it was there but noone really knew about it). I desperately wanted into Yahoo's Juventus category, which was a big struggle because they manually approve sites and their links are horribly outdated etc.

I liked him too. I liked his poems about Totti and Roma very much:D

Until now, those Roma fans I'm talking about become so angry when you just mention Sutnop in their forum...

@ Reb: :howler:

That was funny how you put it.
:D Which part?

Any keywords in the title of the thread?

she was a mod, and I was a sensitive serious newbie provoked by Sutnop all the time, well you do the math :D

Nope, she left a couple of years ago. Haven't spoken to her since ~2004.
maybe you mixed (my "friendship" with) her and with Jules, Nina was a sweet girl, I can't even remember why she left
