Well, the thing is that with Latin you get a basic structure you're more or less used to. Greek on the other hand has a very different use for verbs. It makes you understand there are other structures possible in a language and you'll start noticing them more quickly. If your only interest is to learn Italian, German or French, you're just fine with Latin though.

Beh, I only studied Greek because I felt it was one of the few interesting options available at high school. I wouldn't study it right now.
