USA was simply pathetic, and I know that the fans of the USA will now say "the Czech Rep. beat us because they are on of the best teams in the tournament, and may even go on to win it"
I have a different opinion.....
I think the Czechs are good, but the USA showed me absolutely nothing today, and when you get a blown up head beating woeful opponents like Panama, Jamaica, Canada, Barbados, etc you have to expect to have many difficulties when you face a real team

Are you sure about Ghana. I thought they did well for not having forwards and a goalkeeper that was as crazy as a shithouse rat. Those corners in the first half were hilarious. Essien showed that he is worth the big bucks and helped Ghana hold on the the ball for some of the game. Which was more than they should have. There was no real domination by Italy though Pirlo's shot was a gem. I missed the second goal. Nevertheless Italy didn't impress as I thought they should have. Ghana's nervousness in the back and on set pieces should have translated to a 3 goal Italy lead by the 15th minute.
As for the US match, I have a newfound respect for RoSICKy. As Gwen Stefani would say "That kid is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S"! They outplayed us and deserved their win. There were only four players who deserved to be on the pitch for the USA, McBride, Reyna, Oyewu and Eddie Johnson. Convey and Beasley were non-existent. Landon Donavan reminded Leverkuesen fans why he left Germany, he's a pussy. Eddie Lewis can't defend never has and never will and certainly didn't today. Kasey Keller is way too old to be the type of goalkeeper that the US needs to advance in World Cup play. Bruce Arena did well and made the necessary subs at halftime but the players did not respond. As for our next match which is a must win against Italy. I foresee a drastic change not only in personel but also in attitude which will hand the US the win they so badly need.
The following is addressed Vinnie and all the rest of the anti-US soccer cafones:
Take your FIFA rankings and eat them. You talk of how the US doesn't deserve to be where it is and how they deserve to loose and yackity yack. That's horseshit. It is not like FIFA gave the US their own World Cup trophy. No shit Italy is better than the U.S., has anyone denied that? No. Of course we don't play European teams on a regular basis, we're a CONCACAF team. And in case you didn't know the USA is a few thousand miles away from Europe which makes it a bit difficult to get a quality team together, as you probably noticed against Germany earlier this year. Excuses aside, Italy is better than the US, no matter what FIFA says and everyone knows that. Italy is a favorite in every tournament they enter, the US is not. Italy has 23 of its 23 man roster playing in Serie A. The US has 18 of its 23 man roster playing in or that have played in the MLS. The MLS, in case you didn't know, shovels the Serie A's poop. What we have here is a football powerhouse and a football upstart. And no reason to hate. If you wonder why some of us root for the US, I have the answer for you. We cheer for them because we don't have anything else, we are young enough to have a National league and a decent National Team to cheer for. And even if we do say the US will beat Italy, which I firmly believe, it is only because we are fans. Now have some class and enough with the chin rubbing. I don't want to see Andy get banned again.

ghana need a real playmaker as appiah is a good player but nowhere near creative enough at this level.
rosicky put in a sublime performance and was head and shoulders above anyine else on the park, however if koller has tore his hamstring as it looks they are in trouble if they come up against a top qualiy side. no-one else in their team can give opposition as hard a time. i feel for the US as they are a good unit, they all work for the team and McBride put everything he had into it but just didnt have any supply up there to work with.

What a damn joke the USA was..after all the 'respect us' and 'watch out' and group of death talk they simply fizzled..offering less than the likes of Iran, Angola or Trinidad and Tobago who are ranked way down the list...I actually believed Andy's hype and picked the US to finish second in the group in a pool I am in..what a mistake...
To think people warned Italy to watch out for the US. To compare them to Ghana is a disrespect to Ghana who offered more than the US did..Ghana did well in the second half yet had no forwards of any sort to put the ball in..
Great game by Cannavaro and Pirlo...despite reports I saw good chemistry between Toni and Gilardino...Gilardino compliments Toni and gave him some nifty passes...
I am sort of relieved because on a somewhat off day Italy still won 2-0 with the usual suspects: Toni Gilardino Totti not scoring...USA game will be target practice for and a scrimmage for the Czech match up.
