I dont know about that. You should check out the Fowler goal against Blackburn from a couple weeks ago. Cisse was clearly offside inside the 18 yard box but raised his hands and turned his back to the goal as Morientes slotted the ball to Fowler. These type of calls are totally judgement calls by the officials. You could ask six officials what they think and you could get six different calls.
I just posted what the ex-ref on that show pointed out. I think that if Cissé was offside, in front of the keeper and the ball close to him it should have been dissallowed.

yeah me and my friend were debating this last week. he thinks it should have been called offside as he moved his foot towards the ball before pulling away so he must be intefering. while i agree with him i can see why the call was not made as he did not touch the ball(new rule0 and the next phase was the pass to fowler.
for me the way the rule was set out last season was better with active or inactive, now you have first phase, second phase and a massive gey area.
hearts got screwed at the weekend in the edinburgh derby by this rule but its not really the fault of the officials. they are as confused as everyone else

He was behind the play after the initial pass to Morientes who passed it to Fowler. He wasn't really "involved" but who knows. A different official, a different call.

would have been ironic if they abandoned the game, meaning a 3-0 win for penafiel though wouldnt it? if that had happened and sporting had won their game in hand it could have got interesting
At the time, I honestly thought that was in the realm of the ref's reasonable decision-making ... i.e., to call off the match. And ultimately, the league could have grounds to award a forfeit.

Too bad RTPi didn't cover the Sporting game, though. They have this midfielder, João Moutinho, who is not even 20 years old yet, is even shorter than Deco, and yet has been one of the best youth surprises of the season for his maturity and well-rounded midfielder skills. (He's also been one of the best players in the league this year.) I hope to see the guy in WC2006. One of the Spanish La Lega clubs is bound to snatch him ASAP.

No BS MAN..the panel (when they went round) didn't agree...and the BALL was NOT touched in any event.

Whatever, there are virtually four games this season with questionable calls but I have neither the patience nor the will anymore to argue it..its like the Lazio coach stated: with Juve you must be at 500% on your game to win because luck and other factors come into play....

Its so engrained in teams minds that people are too tired of bringing it up week after week....
the only one not agreeing was Massaro. Go figure.

they didn't agree with the no-card to Canna. He deserved a yellow.

anyway, this year Milan had more favourable calls and that's a fact. I agree that we could get more yellows.

Are you insane?? What favorable calls??

Juve has stains on their ties/victories against Parma, Udinese, Cagliari and Lazio...count the number of points that is...

what favourable calls? Someone at XT had a good point..have you seen Juve's foul to yellow ratio???

Canna a yellow?? The guy is out for the entire season...Cannavaro has steadily become a hack this season ....

Lets not even begin discussing the non-existent corner kick last week in the 96th minute ... where was the corner???
