I understood that, but it got me surprised.

I know Benitez's approach for the match was a draw, he does not need anything. I got surprised because of Mourinho, he didn't seem to care either, he's satisfied with the second spot. I hope he meets, Barcelona again, Bayern or hopefully us. I really hope so, his sacking will be sooner than expected.

You know what? I hope the CL Final will be between Liverpool-Chelsea, just so we can see more top class football and play with our donks for an entire 120 minutes.

They may go on like this even on the Penalties....

There's a nice casino there also.

Too bad your evening at the Bridge was disappointing.
Why was it dissapointing, was a great evening....

Sometimes i wonder when i read posts like that whether people have actually ever been to a match...

The game itself has little bearing on the quality of the evening (obviously getting trounced 5 - 0 puts a downer on preceedings) , its about the occasion, the fans, the atmosphere, screaming, singing, laughing, talking to friends and strangers, sharing an experience...

This evening was a great evening, actually better than my last trip to the bridge when chelseas hammered betis...

as a Pool fan. watching the match on television was disappointing, had i been there i probably would be telling a different story. its true that there is quite a difference in being at a match and watching one on the TV.

As a match, I heard and read it had no significant points. I saw the highlights and it was one shot. As for the atmosphere it is something else, something I cannot say something about at all because one has to be there to judge. It does not matter if one has been to a match or not, my remark was based on a football game played on the pitch not on a football atmosphere.

Point is jeeks, you didnt say a dissapointing game, you said it was a dissapointing evening, it wasnt, i remeber very few dissapointing evenings at football (including losses)... If i did i wouldnt go anywhere near as much...
A day out at football is much more than a match...

Even the 3 CL final losses i have attended were great nights, obviously sad by the results, but the nights as a whole were all first class.... Of course the victory was even better, but hey, football doesnt allways go your way

As for the game, it was pretty much what i expected and as it goes, i didnt think the match was particularly bad... It was ok... Perplexed by Jose's tactics, but that was about all

You are probably right, I should have said game.

Did you expect the game to be like this? I was actually waiting for a push from Chelsea to clinch the top spot, the result and the comments really got me surprised.

Good man Paul.

And from a television spectator's point of view, the Bridge match was absolutely horrible and not worth watching. Obviously it's a different story if you're actually at the stadium...

I thought chelsea would have pushed a bit more, but overall the match was what i expected it to be

Don't you think it is Mourinho's arrogance that he does not care where will he be placed that the team did not push more?

Andy, do you really play with your dong for 120 minutes or was that just an ironic comparison to watching Liverpool v. Chelsea on another gut-wrenching, mind-numbing evening. Throw the bastards out and play with your dong, I say.

Dont see it as arrogance at all... Personally at this stage i see absolutely no difference between first or seccond in the group... We're at the sharp end now... everyones dangerous...

Winning the group is a slight psychological boost for the players, but little more meaningful...

The more inportant thing for chelsea at the moment is the premiership and as such not getting beaten by a premiership rival and giving them a boost to kick them on for the season... especially with the 4 matches coming in quick succession over the xmas break... No one wins them all, there are allways surprises over xmas... Its notoriously the most dangerous period in the english calender... as such you cant give another team a boost at this time

But yet again Paul...if you finish second in your group you do not have home field advantage in the second leg of the knockout phases. Now we can go into a long discussion of whether you have an advantage playing at home in the second match, however the way I see it you do have an extra edge...you know what you must do with the crowd behind you. Of course in some cases it doesn't matter though..
