hiya jeeks, did you complete your military service?
Yes, as a lieutenant. I have to say it was a fun year not as many say. It is a waste of time that's for sure, but I enjoyed it especially the firt three training months.

two of the options are surprise surprise: france and the US
At least one of them has got an army...:)
To be honest thats two hard armys to do the service for. I did 15 months in Sweden and we do not have something you can call an army.

i would never serve in either country's army, i actually wouldnt serve in any non-volontary system period. I just feel that it's good to go through military training coz it teaches all the survival techniques and the firearm training.

And why do you want to have those? The surviving skills and firearms training?

One of the reasons why I live outside Italy is to avoid that ridiculously wasted year of a young man's life that is military service.

It's wasted when you're used as cheap(in some instances free) labor; but the training is really constructive when you dont let the pschological stuff get to you.

because the future is uncertain, and who knows if we will leave ever so comfortably with electricity, car, abundant food... just think of katrina and the latest earthquake.
Toy do not need the army to learn that. Go extreme your self and camp in horrible conditions. Do workout by your self...
