Mine too, never got braces or any of those things. I wanted to get braces though and everytime I went to the dentist I was hoping I got them and always asked when I was gonna get them and she said "next time for sure"

I never got them

Yeah, me neither. There pretty white too, probably because I dont smoke nor drink coffee.

Feck that - they're not that unpleasent looking. REally, people make far too much of a deal about braces.

Yeah and if theyre only for five months...

Yeah but its just for five months, have you checked if you can get the ones that you get them done on the back of your teeth so they cant be seen?

Exactly, you endure it for 5 months and are then set for a lifetime. I'd do it if I were you.

Look, they're alright when you're 15, but when you're18 there aren't many guys around wearing braces. It's just that that I'm a bit worried about.

I would say something like "You shouldn't care what others think" but either scenario is based on that :D

Help me out here guys:

My teeth aren't perfect. In fact, the 4 frontal teeth are the problem. They're not a problem and most people that don't watch them wouldn't notice they're not that nice.

My orthodont offered me to wear braces during 5 months. My teeth would be perfect afterwards.

What do you think?
Should I do this?

They don't cause me any problem whatsoever, so it's purely estethical.

I have braces now because of a jaw injury from boxing.

I have to wear them until November, when I have surgery to re-break my jaw, and reset it (I unknowingly fractured it in 2000, and it healed wrong)

Anyways , Seven, if its only for 5 months, then why not ??

You will be happier with perfect teeth !!

There is some pain involved when they tighten the wire (mostly discomfort, but nothing serious), but 5 months will go by fast

Maybe you should have done ther earlier then.
I have actually had them done. But they didn't check it up right. That's why it's not exactly horrible right now. It's not even that ugly. It's just not perfect.

Alright, now I'm doing it. Whenever I get tired of them I'll think of you :D.

Looking back to when I had braces, for some reason I never quite had the social hang-ups about them that most kids had. But still, it's a really small and forgettable investment that will pay off for the rest of your life. It's not really a question, IMO...

Rebreaking jaws... ouch. Good luck there, Vinman. Resetting bone can be such a nasty proposition. Orthopedic surgeons, for example, are more like carpenters than doctors. (You only need to look at their instruments to learn that one! )

One downside about braces out there is that there are some dentists who correlate them with higher incidences of TMJ... or when your jaw snaps. I didn't have it before braces and did after. But still -- it was well worth it.

my teeth are kinda yellow-ish. prolly because of smoking. and also because im often not bothered to wash them at night... ****ed if i care..
