Juventus scouts impressed with Neymar's Brazil brace against Scotland - Report

Juventus scouts are convinced Santos' teenage sensation Neymar has what it takes to fire the Old Lady back to the top of Italian football after witnessing the rising star's mercurial talent in full display during Brazil's 2-0 victory over Scotland on Sunday, Il Corriere dello Sport reports.

The 19-year-old striker ran riot against the Scots, bagging a brace, and not only collected the man-of-the-match award for his fine showing but the attention of some of Europe's elite clubs, namely Juve, who were on hand in London to view the player.

The Serie A giants have long been admirers of the emerging star but stepped up their interest earlier this year when they sent scouts to Peru to watch him represent Brazil in the under-20 tournament there.

Juventus can expect fierce competition for Neymar's signature, as the player is valued at €30m and is wanted by Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Didn’t know we sent scouts in that Peru U20 tournament.

Apparently he's on record stating that he doesn't fancy the Premier League as his preferred destination.

I'm fearing that this reporting in the press of repeated presence of Juve officials at his matches will amount to nothing and that he will possibly end up at one of the two Milan clubs.

You'd think that if they are serious about this player they would have commenced or better, wrapped up negotiations to get him to Turin.

The only fear is that they go for the Italian version, in their eyes of course, of Neymar. Giuseppe Rossi.

If they are really serious about that kid, they need to wrap up a deal for him now. Would be an unbelievable signing.

As long as we're serious and don't ask Santos for a year loan and then an option to buy then we have a good chance. We're basically going to ask Neymar to be the face of our team and our nr 1 star player and I think he'll fancy that over being just another squad player for Real or Barca.

This guy maybe all that. But he's not Del Piero's heir IMO. He seems fantastic but I can't see him carry a team like Alex did for so long. Or exhibit that level of class and temperament for the club. Which makes me question if the club would invest so heavily on his talent. I see this team go for a good player but someone who'd be more responsible and share responsibility with other players forming a core part of the outfit. Neymar seems a little bit like a loose cannon, and that could work against him. What do you guys think?
