How can you possibly know that?
Because they just don't. Personally, I would say at his age, he's slightly comparable to Ronaldo in how he went to PSV at age 18. I don't think Neymar is quite as good as Ronaldo was at his age; probably one notch below that level, which is still pretty damn good. On the other hand, take Aguero for instance, who also went to Europe at 18. I'd say that comparatively, Neymar is the bigger talent between the two when Kun was his age.

So when you think about it, a player with the potential to be better than Kun, but lesser than Ronaldo, develops about every five years. That may not seem like much. But when you take into account the demand for these players, and subsequently the fact that Neymar has admitted he wouldn't mind joining Juventus, we are talking about far more than five years here. We're talking more like 20 since the majority of starlets will want to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona.

I'd say we have a massive opportunity here, one we should not miss. Even if he isn't better than someone like Aguero in Europe, he should still offer the side with a decade's worth of performances. And that, from an investment point of view, is a smart move.

I'll take him him for anything less than 25 mill€.

I mean, we could afford Melo and Diego for about 23-25 mill€ each last year. Why can't we get Neymar + some FB & a couple of wings?
Because we "had" a bunch of stupid ass people running the club in the last 3-4 years. Seriously just forget about these numbers because we were a joke back then (hopefully not anymore)....

I have to agree that Neymar has the bigger potential than Dzeko.
Given his talent and performance at this age (18?), there is a chance that Neymar can become a "80m player", say like C.Ronaldo/Kaka's level. even he doesn't perform, I am quite sure that we can have a good chance to sell him for something like 20m, which is not a huge loss actually and the risk is worth taking.

While that's not the case for Dzeko, I would say he's pretty much at the max. of his value but his contribution will be more guaranteed.

My concern is we don't really have time to take a risk on a youngster. We need to win something or at least play more convincingly in the coming year, and there is chance that Neymar could turn into a Cassano/Robinho. If we don't invest in another consistent striker, it will be a very difficult situation for Juve in long term as well.

But in terms of player's values, then yes, Neymar is the player we should look at and after he declared his willingness to play for Juve, this is a chance that we should not miss.

I can't really decide between these two.

Portugual passed a law several years ago wherein any third generation descendant of a Portuguese-born person is eligible to apply. So, I guess if he can prove any tenuous lineage, he should be okay to get one.

I mean, Portugal still hands out citizenship to Indians born in Goa pre-1961, as I recall.
Cool, thanks.

Not if we get Champions League it won't be, surely Del Neri's recent statements about Pastore fill you guys with hope that we will sign one top class player.

All of that made perfect sense to me.

I have been wowed by Neymar, in what I have seen of him, other than he seems like...what you would expect an 18 year old coveted by the world's biggest clubs, would be like, as in...rather cocky.

I can understand and agree with to some extent, what Hustini has been banging on about, but more important to me, is the potential of having one of the world's greatest talents, in our front line, which lets be honest, desperately needs world class quality.

Yes, we definitely need solid fullbacks. But Del Neri has at least suggested, so far, that he can push De Ceglie, even Sorenson, to play solid football. A sturdy defensive unit is brilliant, but the defence shuts teams out, stops them scoring, rarely offers a major offensive threat...exceptions of course...Maicon...Roberto Carlos...Evra...Ashley Cole...but these are exceptions. We all know that our forward line needs improving. DP, despite my own concerns of his usefulness at such an elderly age, has been great this season. Quag has also been in fine form. But the pinnacles they can reach, coupled with the horrifying Amauri and solid, but unspectacular VinnyCenzo Iaquinta, are not anywhere near a world class attack. And the attack is what is going to win us games, more than new fullbacks.

Neymar seems to enjoy the wing channels. Especially the left. He can use both feet, has a stunning turn of pace, and his shooting seems to be improving. With him on the left and Krasic on the right, we would cause ALL teams, on our day, huge problems defensively.

Chiellini, Buffon, Aquilani, Krasic...they are the players I presently see as world class, or potentially world class. Bonucci looks great, at times, but I am unsure of his potential. Melo perhaps can be added to that list. But then what of the others???and not one attacker...although Krasic tends to be much more a right wide forward, than a traditional right winger.

The parts of Andy's post I put into bold, seem very revelant. Now is a time, when we are showing signs of becoming once again, a decent team. Barca and Madrid have Neymar's position covered, and he would likely be on the bench. His interest in Chelsea seems to have cooled, maybe Dunga's words helped. And he doesn't seem to like Inter..good lad! Which leaves...us. where he could become our messiah.

Despite my agreement with Hustini, that for the money we will need to pay for him, we could improve several other areas of the team, as in two decent fullbacks, and a target man of real worth, I would be overjoyed if we grabbed Neymar, and I am sure he would improve us immensely.

I hope and think we have a reasonable chance of Dzeko. I'm not keen on Neymar but if we got him, I'll just hope for that he can grow up and stop being an immature wanker. Pastore, no chance at all but I would love him here.
