Mark, you mentioned before that Neymar has the opportunity to obtain a Portuguese passport, is it still possible?
Portugual passed a law several years ago wherein any third generation descendant of a Portuguese-born person is eligible to apply. So, I guess if he can prove any tenuous lineage, he should be okay to get one.

I mean, Portugal still hands out citizenship to Indians born in Goa pre-1961, as I recall.

I'm glad some people are finally talking sense here. Bunch of "fucking clueless pot heads" we are. :D

Seriously, if we got neymar then we would need to also buy a poacher type (pure goalscorer), that's two expensive purchases. Plus all the other holes that need filled AND the loan to buys if we take them, and the ones we don't take we will then need to add that to the need to buy list, especialy for squad depth. Keep Quag, Cassano for free(if we can), and Dzeko for 25m.

I'm sorry, Neymar is a great player but at this juncture in our rebuilding faze it would just be bad business and unnecessary. If he gets a euro passport and we have money to burn then by all means, done deal it. other wise let's looks to get a pure goal scorer asap to replace our duds that we have, bolster LM, wingbacks, backup CB and figure out our loan to buys. Get a team that guarantees top 3 and CL then let's start toy shopping then.

Why get a cheeseburger with no cheese? It just doesn't make sense.

Only thing I get is the risk of the big price (rest of alot of rubbish of peeps who barely watched him, yes that means you in particular Hustini), but who said the price will be that hefty? What media exaggerates or clubs demand well in advance to hype their merchandize so to speak, and what they will cost is totally different things. If I believed these inflated prices to be fact, I would be quite reluctant too (and had never seen what kind of huge talent he is too, even more), but there is such a thing called bargaining (and this player is desperate to leave, hence lowers the price).

Only real tangible issue I have is its one of the other, Dzeko or Neymar, and regardless of how amazing I think Neymar will be, Dzeko is the safer choice. Just wish it was possible to somehow get both.

I'll take him him for anything less than 25 mill€.

I mean, we could afford Melo and Diego for about 23-25 mill€ each last year. Why can't we get Neymar + some FB & a couple of wings?

I don't really get what you reference me watching him or not osman. I have, I know he is quality. I'm not disputing that. Whether he justifies that price tag or not is irrelevant. For us to buy him at that price, however, is completely relevant. You said it yourself, Dzeko is the safer choice. What the hell do you think I've been saying all day long? Of course I share your feelings in getting both, it would be great but not gonna happen unless one magically gets a eu passport.

Whether I have seen him or not has nothing to do with my argument. This so called "bargaining" thing doesn't always work. Especially when other clubs are interested that have deeper pockets than we do.

How could he be a spoilt brat if he wants to join Juve? That doesn't make sense. If he wanted to go to Chelsea or Real Madrid I would've agreed maybe he is a spoilt brat. But wanting to come to Juve? Nah, I think he is young and confused. Our boys Melo, Del Piero and Gigi will take care of him.

How you were describing him or referencing as a player was completely sounding like someone who hasnt seen him play.
I haven't seen him as much as you or most everyone else. Still, as I mentioned before...my main argument is not whether I think he is bad because I never once said he was, you put those words in my mouth. There will be plenty of other pastores, neymars and patos coming down the assembly line soon enough, why pay 30m when we can scout one almost as good or better for a fraction of the cost?

Nah, there wont be much of youngsters in Neymars class coming down the assembly line any time soon. There is a reason those kind of prices are being touted around regarding him.
