On the other hand, as much as that woman clumsily sided with the criminals, I think society thrives on the easy moral crutch of believing that there are good, honest people like themselves and then there are bad people who do evil things and the two never cross over. We like the easy model of Darth Vader vs. Luke Skywalker in judging the world.

That sort of moral laziness paints people in such broad strokes that we have overwhelming support for things like three strikes laws with the mistaken belief that it only applies to "them", not "us".

I do wish the media would point out more that otherwise good people can do very evil, criminal things. It keeps us on our toes and avoids the, "He seemed like such a nice man... kept to himself" problem we hear all the time. Not to make us all paranoid, but people are too quick to presume the worst about someone who commits a crime and yet never see themselves or the people they trust as having elements of criminal behavior.
We have a pedagog here.

no, when you drink too much you have to assume the responsibility of the poor decisions you make
They dubbed themselves the rape crew, took pictures, videos of the act, mocked and made light of it all over social media sites, pretty much bragged about it (with half the town excusing what they did, and parents and Local law not interested in investigating it, all because of them being precious town celebs for playing a sport in school?), and you think alcohol is the key factor here?

sorry for confusion, my question was more in general, it didnt refer to this case but rather the law in these matters, which i find dubious and sexist

That the rape of a man by a woman is seen as completely different to the reverse is nothing new or fair, but its mainly about balance of power between the two. Former doesnt realistically happen enough to make it a serious issue in the eyes of society. When it comes to alcohol, I'm not entirely sure how your countries laws deals with it though (but when it comes to rape, I'm pretty sure your laws are prolly way better then swedens jokish ones).

I meant physical power Deneb :D Hence why Females raping men aint that common. And yeah not saying your laws are rosy, but in general Sweden has one of the most amateurish rape laws in the western world.

how can a choice made by a woman when shes drunk be reverted once shes sober, and a man cant? Can a man be impaired enough to be raped by a woman?
A drunken fuck fest, regretted in the morning is a bit difference than a girl passing out and you taking the kat anyway.

I see what you're saying, but you're treading some dangerous waters here. We've both been to college so you know what I mean.

As long as the woman can get pregnant and the guy can't, it will never be equal.

Yeah, this. Fucking a girl that's passed out is rape. She doesn't have to fight back for it to count.

Do poor decisions still count if you can't remember them? :p

What about the fact that chicks can decide to keep a child that was an accident and the guy still has to pay child support? There has to be a rule that the kid can be kept only if both parents agree to it in writing.

Life ain't fair. It's silly to pretend that you can ever make that gender equation fair when it comes to popping out chipmunks.

I guess you can say the same to women getting paid less or being raped because they're not as strong as men then. It's the way nature intended it after all. :boh:

to clarify, i don't believe in what I said, just making an argument. :p

indeed but where and who draws this line, surely we wont force a couple to notarize the act before performing it

classical hypoagency argument, men have to stop regurgitating this line of thinking there's no excuses left for women not to fully assume responsibility for their actions

women are not paid less, they freely choose prioritization of flexibility and comfort over pay.
