Students' dirty dancing leads to school ban

    -----------------------------------------------

Bangor High School in Maine has cancelled all school dances, which act as fundraisers for the student body, because of the popularity of 'grinding', a dance in which the boy grinds his crotch against the girl's backside.

According to the school's principal, Norris Nickerson, students had repeatedly ignored warnings about grinding, and other forms of perfectly normal teenage behaviour.

The Great Chocolate Wall of China

The Great Wall of China is one of the most impressive engineering feats in the world, stretching almost 3,900 miles and surviving for hundreds of years. However, nobody ever claimed that it tasted very nice.

But now, that one flaw has been rectified, as a team of Chinese confectioners have built a 10 metre long replica of the structure entirely out of chocolate - in a bid to entice Chinese people to eat more of the sweet stuff.

    ..........................

Up to 80 tonnes of chocolate were used in making the displays, which also include a mini-army of 560 chocolate replicas of the famous Terracotta Warriors standing to attention on a layer of chocolate flakes.

Spot the difference: The leopard and the golden retriever who are the best of friends

Salati, a ten-month-old leopard, leans in for a cuddle with her best friend, Golden Retriever Tommy

It's a role reversal not commonly seen, but then the cat chasing this dog is a little larger than most.

Salati, a ten-month-old leopard, and her best friend, golden retriever Tommy, like nothing more than to run amok before settling down for a friendly cuddle.

The odd couple were reared together at Glen Afric Country Lodge near Pretoria in South Africa.

Animal wrangler Richard Brooker, 23, raised Salati and takes her and family dog Tommy for their daily exercise together.

Each morning, he walks them on his family's 1,850-acre estate and then lets them run free to their hearts' content.

He said: 'Wherever you see one the other is right behind. They are inseparable and both have lots of energy so they get the exercise they both need together.

An eight-year-old girl was raped by two 10-year-old boys while out playing with her younger sister near her home in west London, the Old Bailey has heard.

The girl, who was allegedly raped in a field, later told her mother what had happened, jurors heard.

The boys, who cannot be identified because of their age, each deny two charges of rape and two charges of attempted rape of a child under 13.

The offences are alleged to have happened in October 2009.

The alleged rape happened near to where all the children - who knew each other - lived, the court heard.

The boys, who are now aged 10 and 11, are among the youngest to be charged with rape in the UK.

The jury was told that the court's sitting hours had been shortened and other steps would be taken because the defendants were so young.

The judge, Mr Justice Saunders, sat where the court clerk normally sits so he was on the same level as the boys.

Rosina Cottage, prosecuting, told the court the mother went looking for the girl after her younger sister, who she had been playing with, returned home without her.

    'Secluded spot'

Miss Cottage told the court: "This case concerns rape by two boys still at primary school of a girl even younger than them.

"Together they took her to different locations near where they lived in order to find a sufficiently secluded spot to assault her.

"The events leading to the alleged rapes all took place in and around a block of flats and they ended in a field."

Miss Cottage said when the victim's mother and younger sister went to fetch her, they bumped into the mother of the younger defendant and a five-year-old playmate.

When the boy's mother asked the little boy where her son was "he said that he was in a nearby field and that he was with (the girl) and that he was hurting her", said Miss Cottage.

He pointed over to the field and the women went to find the children. The girl's mother went into the field but could not locate her.

When she did find her, the woman "could see things were not right with her daughter", Miss Cottage said.

She told the court the mother later asked the girl what was wrong and the girl told her mother that the boys had taken her to the block of flats where they had moved the bins in a bin shed so that she could not get out.

Miss Cottage added: "When a car pulled up the boys had taken her out of the bin shed and taken her to the fields.

"She told them to leave her alone."

The boys then assaulted her, the court heard.

Miss Cottage said the girl's mother spotted the older boy and asked what happened but he replied "nothing".

The younger boy joined them and, before anything was asked, allegedly said: "I didn't touch her."

The court was told the older boy then added: "It wasn't me. It was (the other boy)."

The girl was then taken to hospital because she was complaining of pains in her stomach, the court heard.

She gave evidence via videolink from another room of the court and told how she was taken to the bin shed before being taken to the field.

    The trial continues.

That actually isn't too odd. Dogs are used to raise big cats and in most cases teh cat is released or separated from the dog when it becomes old enough to get by on it's own.

Lib Dem election agent jailed over child porn

A PROMINENT Liberal Democrat election agent caught with child pornography at his Woking home has been jailed for three months.

Robert Somper, 73, of Park Road, shared the stage with Lib Dem leader, and now deputy prime minister, Nick Clegg at last year's party conference.

But he has been locked up following the discovery of hundreds of depraved photos and films at a London maisonette he rented as well as at his family home in Woking.

Judge Owen ordered Somper to sign the sex offenders' register for seven years and banned him from surfing the web for porn for the same period, as part of a sexual offences prevention order.

He was also told to pay £580 in prosecution costs and to take care of his own defence fees.

“I see no reason whatsoever why the taxpayer should pay for your legal representation,” said Judge Owen.

The judge also hit out at offensive comments made in mitigation last month by Somper's barrister Jonathan Mitchell, who appeared to justify his client ogling child porn.

    That's crazy and disgusting.
    Good jumping to conclusions folks.

The 'victim' has admitted under cross-examination that she lied about everything.
